You guys are playing positive basketball. You guys don't need a wreckless crackpot disrupting your young team. Wait until the trade deadline. If you guys are floundering and need an inside presence, I might think about getting Cousins. But in all honesty, I would not want to be around a bi-polar 6' 10", 270lb man. It's hard to win with an emotional train wreck.

It's hard to win with Jimmer Fredette and AAron Brooks as your PGs.

I like Cousins - he's still only 22.

True. And the style of play is made worse by the lack of consistent playmaking at any of the wing positions. Tyreke could create if he wanted to, but he's had sticky fingers the past couple of years. It all adds up to Sac being dead last in the league in assists. Not one player on the team averages 4 assists per game. Bonkers. Just nuts.

Cousins reminds me of Sheed. He's passionate and he doesn't want to lose. I'm not sure if all his blow-ups are because of this, or lack of maturity, it's just that I'd live to have him on my team when he can put them under control. Having him on a team with zero vet leadership is just making things worse for him, especially without a strong coaching staff.

Sheed was always a team-first guy was he not? Was he like this when he was young???

Cousins' behavior has nothing to do with winning. Toby described it best, the dude isn't 100% and my bet is he'll never be. We should never ever go after him.

He's on a terrible team with lacklustre fan support and there's clearly long standing issues between him and the coaching staff. Yes he's absolutely a little more unstable than most, but he does legitimately want to win and I really think he's the exact kind of player that would benefit from a change of scenery. Who wouldn't shape up a pretty fast if they got shipped up here in the wintertime from Cali?

P.S. We have better mental health professionals up here so that might help too.

You're absolutely right, his behaviour has nothing to with winning. it has everything to do with losing and being stuck on a shitty team that consistently makes poor personnel decisions from the players on the court to the people with the clipboard.

Of course we should never go after him simply because we are that same team, and that's exactly why we can be making those risks with low character players. It wouldn't necessarily be about him ever being 100%. It's no different than someone like arrest or rodman, it's about being able to manage him and having the right players around him that won't be effected by his behaviour.

Cousins to Minny for K-Love would make some sense I guess.

Just spit balling.

Agreed 100%.

Cousins needs a team with strong-minded coaches AND players in place... like BOS or SAS.

I wouldn't trust him not to explode here and what we're building is still very fragile.

TOO much of a gamble IMO.

Lowry+Bargnani for Cousins+something? I just don't love the idea of Lowry and Cousins together as "go-to guys", given their history of bad relationships with coaches. I'd rather have Calderon as the veteran leader/good soldier/pass first type next to Cousins.

I think Cousins/Valanciunas is a very interesting pair going forward.

If we traded Bargnani for Cousins and Cousins kept his sanity for one year... just one year, we could trade him for a lot more than we would get for Bargnani. Maybe even the SF we need. Just need a sponser that keeps him in check the whole time. Doesn't matter if he's a headcase if the plan is to flip him next year if you think about it that way.
