Kings Cousins looking for a max deal/extension

Quote:
Cousins is eligible for a contract extension this summer, and Fegan wants a maximum deal for his client with the threat of a trade demand looming if a deal isn't reached.

Why take the max when you could join the mediocre Raptors for the MLE since we're capped out and play with terrible shooters like demar!

Absolutely, Cousins is a dominate beast....him and JV could be a frightening pair for other teams to deal with.

If we find a way to clear some cap while keeping Rudy and Lowry next offseason, then I`ll give it to him.

Cousins is a beast, based on his game alone I'd do this. The only thing that would be a drawback is that he is a "headcase" apparently.

it should start at around 13.8

--edit-- we are talking about next summer... so this number will be wrong. will depend on the NBA revenues. i guess ~14.5 mil would be reasonable to expect next year. but cap/tax will go up as well.

If Masai could get JaVale McGee in order, he might be able to save this Cousins "gangsta".

Javale was just stupid. Cousins is actually a head case.

He's supremely talented, wants to win now and has no patience for others at the moment that get in his way. Sure he's made some bonehead moves but so has many, like Lowry for instance (he's made a few). I like his aggressiveness and talent - as some here have pointed out to myself, players do grow up since they are people too. Besides Cousins is only 22 years old.....I would have him and his baggage on the Raps in a New York minute.

Exactly, he'd instantly become our best player.... no brainer for a team so devoid of top tier talent. JV and Demarcus.... sick. I'd trade the entire team but for JV to make this happen.

Amnesty Bargs, sign Rudy to 15 mil a year or so, let Kleiza and Gray expire, sign Lowry to a reasonable contract.

I don`t think we`ll be able to trade fields, but if we package him + a 2015 first in a sign and trade for Cousins this offseason, we`ll be able to give max or close to it.

Sactown isn't giving Demarcus up for Landry and a 2015 draft pick... lol

We'd have to send Demar and that pick, and probably a sweetener.

DeMar is just like all of their perimeter players, except he's the worst 3pt shooter and on the worst contract.

after the conley explosion, young players with "potential" are more valued now despite the contracts. we might get more than we think if we shop demar.
