I have zero problem with the handshakes and comradery after a game. Kids need to learn that compassion and a competitive nature can also come with good sportsmanship and respect.

I run a softball league in Toronto and I always hear " He's just very competetive" when a player goes off their rocker or over reacts. I correct them that that player is just unbalanced and a hot head. Just because I dont scream and look like my dog died after I lose does not mean I am not competitive.

It's great to see players battle it out for 48 minutes doing all they can to win and then shake hands or embrace after the game. They ae not content with losing. They are saying "I'll get you next time" or something like that.

Whats the back story on this incident?

really interesting scenario. You can argue both sides imo. beauty of sports, so many conflicting emotions and everyone reacts differently

I'll tell you what I do have a problem with. The hand shakes before the game, helping opposing players up during the game, hand shakes and even praying after the game. It's all a bit much imo..

I have no problem with what Cousins did.

Hahah, I love how it looks like a father taking his little son's hand and dragging him away, as if he should know better.

Hand shakes before the game are not even remotely a problem. Nothing has transpired at this point, and it is simply a matter of respect for other athletes. In basketball, a simple hand shake just before tip off does not undermine the competitiveness of the game. The same goes in many other sports. The rest of it i would agree are unnecessary, as they have teammates to help them up and pray.

See I would rather everyone stay on there side before the game and no hand shakes. Then no helping opposing players during the game, or patting each other on the back during the game which I've also seen. When the game is over if they want to shake hands, fine I guess. It's the rest I have the bigger issues with.

Jeff. Do you play rec sports ?

Before a volleyball match or softball game, I always see players from both sides talking and hanging with eachother. Doesnt mean they arnt going all out during the game.

I've played sports my whole life. Especially growing up playing baseball/hockey/tennis/basketball and to be honest there wasn't much of that.

I play softball now and yes there is a lot of mingling before and after games but let's face it, it's a beer league. Like I said we're not talking about rec sports here. Like I said, I can see after a game shaking hands, a lot more than the other crap.

Agreed. Not rec. But to a lot of these guys it's just another game to be played.

I've gotten apologies in the handshake line after games. Separates the game from real life.......and keeps guys from getting roughed up in the parking lot.

We have to see this "incident" in it's context. If the Kings lost to the Clippers due to Thomas playing bad then Cousins has a right to be angry. But apparently he himself cost them the game which simply means he's a bad loser (again). He's humiliating his teammate in public which is simply not-done. It all comes down to Cousins being a knucklehead and a bad loser. It's not like he's young and he'll mature anytime soon, he's just a retard. He's been in the game long enough to learn some proper manners but he hasn't.

People here look at his statline and say: wow "I'd love to have him on our team" but what you get is a loose cannon and an extremely unstable player, it's like bringing in Tattoohead. Players like that cost you games.

One thing I'd like to know is if Paul and Cousins have a history or perhaps Paul played dirty in this game or something, that might explain things.

But I'm all for the handshaking etc.

you want to insult someone else by using the term 'retard'. perhaps it isn't boogie who is the knucklehead...
