I just love Bosh?

He's just one of a few players that I've really enjoyed over the years. I can list some more for you if you like.... Rondo... Nash.. Noah... Marion.... Lin... KG (even though he's a dickhead)... Duncan... I could go on.

In response to the Haverchuk post that Clutch quoted....

I'm not a Westbrook fan. I never have been. I don't like the way that he plays the game (as a PG) and I've gone into depth before when it comes to explaining why. I've given him his due as a great player but I've questioned his bball IQ (and shot selection) at times because I think he hurts his team when he goes into "me mode". If he works on his game some more I think that it'll benefit him and his squad and the Thunder will probably win a few titles.

Kobe's a 5-time champion and most of the time I hate the way that he plays the game too. Even in spite of the fact that he's won quite a bit. I think that he was at his best when he was sharing the load with guys like Shaq and Pau rather than trying to do it all himself TBH.

It's not about "having my cake and eating it too".... I think that I've been very consistent in regards to what I like and what I expect from NBA players. When they play well I give them credit (Bargs, Westbrook, etc).... when they fall into stupid habits I don't have a problem pointing them out... no matter how awesome they look on Sportscenter.

And one last thing... as much as Westbrook annoyed me you didn't see me making memes about him, making fun of his clothing, making threads about every "dumb" thing that comes out of his mouth. There are more than a few posters here who can't say the same thing lol.... esp. when it comes to Bosh. They can hate on though if that's what makes them feel good. I'm just confused as to why they get bent all out of shape when someone disagrees with them.

Think what you want. You're not self aware. It's not giving credit where it is due when you say Westbrook "sucks as a PG" after he took one of the youngest teams in history to 3 wins short of a title.

It's hating. Not giving credit where it is due.

The point was that you said you loved Marion "for years" in your response to Joey.

But fair enough. I can see that your love for Bosh is greater.

So it was ALL Westbrook? That's why they made the finals? Had nothing to do with Durant? Or Harden? Or Ibaka and Perkins? Or Thabo?

Against the Spurs OKC passed the ball and involved their bigs. And Durant went OFF. Picture perfect blueprint of how the Thunder SHOULD play. And Westbrook had a hand in that.

Against Miami OKC's bigs were all but forgotten, the role players weren't involved consistently and Durant wasn't put in a position to succeed. Some of that fall on the coach... some of that falls on the PG.

Found this quote in the OKC/LAL series thread....

When he plays under control he's pretty deadly.

You can't grasp the idea that a thread about Bosh might have more relevance than a Marion thread simply based on their accomplishments and tenure here in TOR?

Hey, you don't have to reply to Bill. But clearly you want to. Why not just un-ignore him? Makes it easier for all of us...

How is quoting Bill "being a douche"? If I don't do it, someone else will. There's no way around it.

Never said that. Stop implying I did. But if he "sucked" as PG, they wouldn't be there.

It's not that simple. Miami didn't play OKC the same way. You're not taking into account Miami's adjustments. For starters, regarding you Durant comment, in game 4 you weren't even noticing how Bosh was cheating in the paint and helping to play Durant for any drive.

OKC took what was given, and overall, their offense actually was not bad. No, actually OKC lost the series on the defensive end. And I could elaborate on that quite extensively. It deserves another thread. Their offensive rating was 110 for 4 out of 5 games. To put that in perspective, that would be equivalent to tops in the league.

The problem is more that they would fall behind early and not get stops. Defense is a bigger issue for OKC, not their PG position.

Not true. I've said many, many times that Westbrook is a great player... even if he's not a good PG. 3 dynamic players (KD, Harden and WB) + a solid defense can definitely take you far in this league.

OKC definitely faltered defensively... no doubt about that.... but Lebron also did a fabulous job of involving his teammates to the point where MIA just had too many weapons for OKC to deal with. Every game was pretty much the same M.O.

It's part of why he threw down one of the best Finals performances in recent memory. He was brilliant on his own but he realized that he wasn't going to win it by himself.

He is at least a respectable PG if he can take them to the finals while playing such a big part while being at that position.

Quote:

So they faltered? No doubt? And 3 of the losses were close at the end.

If you conceed that, then saying the PG sucks is unfair. With the exception of the final game, OKC had a chance to win all those games without doing anything else offensively.

So, theoretically, based on what you've said, they could have won the title and you'd still say Westbrook "sucks" as a PG. Nice. That is irrational.
