Default Clippers trying to move Randolph, Davis and Camby

Quote:
The Clippers, holding the No. 1 pick in the draft and expected to take Blake Griffin, are trying to move Zach Randolph. Good luck with that one. As was the case last season, they'd also like a team to take Baron Davis or Marcus Camby off their hands. Camby has more value, coming up on the final year of his deal.

I think this writer is dead on with Randolph being a really tough guy to move. I think the Warriors would love to get Davis back. I think a bunch of teams would love to land Camby.

The Blazers wanted to move Zach Randolph, the Knicks wanted to move Zach Randolph, and everyone said it wouldn't happen. It did. There's always going to be a team that's willing to and believes it can weather the Z-Bo storm. 20/10 can do a good job of clouding the vision of general managers.

Maybe the Raptors could throw together a package to land Camby. He'd address the "defensive centre" issue and he's a great rebounder. Not to mention he's an expiring.

Nobody is untradeable imo. That's why it kills me when poeple say nobody would touch Kapono. Never say never.

The thing with Randolph is that he was a lot better in New York than he ever was in Portland. He has grown up a little but he has a slow basketball mind and a fucked up sense of self accomplishment. If he ever gets over himself he might be a good player as a sidekick.

I would love to do a trade where we land Camby and Gordon here.

Gordon yeah, but Camby's going on 36yrs old. And combined they make around 12Mil, therefore you need more players in return especially if you want to unload Kapono or Banks contract in the deal. I just don't see us dealing with the Clippers.

If Camby can stay relatively healthy (big if) he's got a couple more solid years in him. We desperately lack two things that he does very well in rebounding and defense, and he's got a nice fat expiring contract that will give us some leeway come 2010. I definitely wouldn't be opposed to bringing him over here. I'd be ecstatic if we could get Gordon in one fell swoop.

There's no way of getting rid of all that malcontent without having to package some sort of young talent or promise. Either that or they're getting moved for no real value other than an expiring contract.

No way they deal Gordon unless Calderon, Bargnani or Bosh is heading their way. That kid is going to be a star in L.A.

Camby is one of their biggest expendable assets. He will be easy to move. He has an expiring contract and he has high impact game. He has shown no regression yet. He might have Mutombo-like longevity. He would not be a long term option but its going to be damn difficult to find a young impact center who isn't going to have a Chris Bosh, Andrea Bargnani or Jose Calderon price tag.

true.
early this season he had that 27 rebound game, which shows he's still got power in him.

Hate to burst your bubble, but Camby is notorious for being made out of glass.

Bring Z-Bo to Toronto. He's "better" than Chris Bosh.

He's getting better as he ages in that department though. Strangely. I call him "Marcease" Camby because he never ceases to amaze me.
