Default Which city has a better chance to get a team?

Montreal or Vancouver?

Noone's even considered MTL for an NBA franchise, it's weird because MTL is much larger than Vancouver. quebec fans are passionate, and quebec is home to some of the best canadian nba players. dalembert etc.

Vancouver has a much better chance of ever getting a team, however that is still very unlikely. Montreal has little chance due to their province insisting on everything being done in French and English, thats a headache the nba definetly dont want. As far as players go, Dalemebert is Haitian, and i think of any players in the league MVSteve has a bit more pull than any scrubber from Montreal.
Never gonna happen anyway...

Basketball isn't 'French' enough for the Quebecois.

I think another franchise would do well in Vancouver.
The Asian population of Vancouver has exploded since the Grizzlies were there. Yao Ming has made basketball like China's catnip so I would say attendance would be much better.

Vancouver because I'm sure David Stern doesn't even know where Montreal is.

Neither.

Seattle, Kansas City, St.Louis, Kentucky and Las Vegas (if Stern ever softens his stance or they cave and take NBA off the books) are all primed for teams.

Vancouver definitely. Not sure how popular basket ball is there though. I really wouldn't want to see one in Montreal.

No one wants to play in Montreal, that is just crazy... too much French language there and players would demand a trade if they are dealt there. Vancouver had a team but it flopped.

I think Calgary would be as good as any b/c the Stampeders had the highest attendance in CFL. Edmonton had a high attendence as well.

Meh. Players would quickly realize how hip and unique Montreal is as a city, it's unlike any other place in North America. They'd get over the initial shock pretty quickly I'd assume.

And as far as the French goes, it's pretty easy to get around there, the majority of the population within the city proper speaks English. Wouldn't be unlike all the Spanish speaking persons of LA.

I agree with you on some of this but not completely.
I mean in L.A are all the business signs supposed to English & Spanish?
Is the Spanish writing legally supposed to be bigger then the English writing?

And look at it this way if some NBA players don't wanna play in Toronto which is 90% all English, then what would make Montreal more attractive to those ignorant players?

I'm French and i don't really like going to Montreal, even though it's not as bad as the rest of the province of Quebec. Plus the winters there are atrocious. Shit players complain how cold Toronto is............let them play in Montreal and see how cold it is.

I think the NBA has a better chance in getting a team in Europe before another one in Canada

What are you talking about? Let the players decide where they prefer to play..

Any NBA player who demands a trade like that, is an absolute parasite.

Have you been to MTL? It's bananas. There are a ton of distractions there. It would become one the favourite stops on the NBA circuit if they (the NBA) ever decided to go there, but as Acie pointed out, the NBA would award franchises to Seattle, Kansas City, St. Louis, Vegas and probably even Europe before they'd consider either Montreal or Vancouver.
