Default Chris Bosh Receives Four-Year, $80M+ Max Offer From Rockets

The Houston Rockets have offered Chris Bosh a four-year, $80 million-plus max contract.

Bosh spoke with LeBron James over the weekend and is now considering the offer from the Rockets.

Bosh would presumably take less money to re-sign with the Miami Heat.

The Rockets would need to unload Jeremy Lin in order to sign Bosh.

This is already in the "all in one NBA news" thread, but perhaps it needs it's own.

Something's going wrong with the Big 3. If I'm Riley, I think he has to look long and hard about taking Wade out back Old Yeller style. He's not even worth 10 mil per anymore and if CB signs somewhere else you can bet LBJ is gone. If Paul Pierce can get shipped out after 15 years and winning their only 'chip since Bird, I don't see how Wade deserves to still get the untouchable treatment. If he signs for cheap, and I mean 6th man cheap, they'll be glad to have him back, but if I was Riles, I wouldn't go higher than that and I'd see if I can convince Melo to be Wade's replacement, since they're still likely to save some money on Bosh. But this isn't like last time with the Decision coming after Bosh signs; this time if they want a chance at keeping the band together, the conductor has to come back first.

Assuming this is true, it seems in the Raptors best interests to see Bosh go to Houston and the Big 3 get dismantled. Well, actually, it would be in a number of the top eastern teams' best interests. Teams like Washington, Indiana, and the Raps should be offering to get involved in the multi-team deals to help grease the wheels to find Lin a home. Even if Lebron stayed in the east, he's not gonna end up in a situation with a stronger team than the current Heat, at least not right away. Cleveland could be strong, but it would take a year. The east would open up in the interim.

not really, him moving back to Cleveland could potentially be even more deadly. imo they might not be good this year but i never seen wiggins play. that team if they get it going, then shit, east will belong to the cavs for next 4 years. there so young, ugh if they find a way to get chemistry with those 1st picks and tt/dion... that will make the prime heat look shit.

Hard to take a pass on a deal like that. Bosh would probably loose out on at least 20-25 million if he signs with the Heat.

yeah, imo, most would be smart enough to take more money but i can see why Bosh wants to stay for less. he is a candidate for being in the hall of fame and even in the shit state that the heat are in, Houston imo wont make it out even with bosh, their bench is so thin.

I just don't see how the Heat come out of this ahead. My guess is that Wade is kicking himself for opting out do that deal as he's clearly going to be the big loser in this.

The Heat need to first figure out what they're going to do with Wade before LB and CB.

What a mess.

If Bosh stays just to take the paycut for Lebron and Heat

I guess we can easily say that Pat Riley is the Godfather

Jimminy Christmas! Channing Frye looks like a steal at 8 million per year.

20 million for Bosh? Do they need someone to guard LaMarcus Aldridge that badly?

Bosh tells Houston that he wants to stay in Miami and play with Lebron?

Houston is the right fit for Bosh. Dwight does all the dirty work that he doesn't want to do anymore. Rebounding, shot blocking, rim defending. And that state of Texas has banned all wolf cages.

So Bosh tells everyone he only wants to go to Miami and kind of takes away all his negotiating power (the headline implies it but article doesn't)? I'm not sure I believe Broussard let alone this article, but at this point I'm weary due to the previous misinformation.

Still think Bosh ends up in Houston at this point.

I think that's probably the case. I'd be shocked if they hadn't previously decided that they'd all stay when it was reported that they met for lunch or dinner.

I've got to think that unless Wade knew Lebron was re-signing there is no way that he would have opted out of his contract. He was leaving too much money on the table and had to have known that his value in the market is not what it once was.

Decided what ? That Wade and Bosh would get less money so LeBron could have a max contract ?

that they would get less, fitting to their roles, so that the team can actually have some depth, while Lebron gets the max and is nevertheless underpaid.
