Chicago a viable option for Melo

See, this is where i'd go if i were Melo. They would be one of the best teams in the east if they can keep their main pieces and land Melo.. Not sure who they'd have to give up to get it done, but man if they can do it by keeping Noah....look out!

Benjamin Hochman of the Denver Post disagrees, writing that the Knicks are not Anthony's only choice and he remains open to other destinations, including New Jersey.

Alan Hahn of Newsday seems to corroborate that Anthony has no interest in the Nets but does not want to publicly reject the team. He cites a person close to Anthony.

Frank Isola of the New York Daily News cites a person in Anthony's camp in reporting that the Bulls continue to be "a viable option" and the Nets are not out of the running.
Can you imagine a lineup of:

Rose
Brewer
Melo
Boozer
Noah

Don't like it. The Bulls already have two guys that can score the ball at will (Rose/Boozer). Why needlessly augment their offensive firepower by giving up a defensive piece in Deng or Brewer or Noah or a combination of these players, which they'd likely have to do.

Wow, if they only give up Deng, some other role player and a pick or two, watch out.

Yeah I dont like the fit with Rose and Boozer either. It'd hurt their halfcourt offence, not help it. When you have too many guys on the same team that need to be ball dominant it rarely works. I dont like how their games mesh.

Chicago is much better off going after a really good SG to complete what would be the best starting 5 in the NBA.

Melo can play with anyone, having him on the Bulls would make them to team to beat, they would have 4 allstar players if that happened

I don't think it would make them any better. Deng's a better outside shooter, which allows the Bulls to spread the floor for Rose and Boozer. Much like Korver, who likely wouldn't see much time if Melo was acquired.

Deng + Korver > Melo

I'd take Melo over Korver + Deng any day of the week. He can score at will inside and out.

I don't see how you turn down an opportunity to pick up one of the best scorers in the NBA.

I articulated above why. Sure, Melo's the sexy acquisition, but he's not a great fit in Chicago, IMO. He's better off playing with a PG that can play off the ball a la Chauncey, and going back to his college days, Gerry Mcnamara. Rose's distance ball is certainly becoming more consistent, but would you really primarily utilize Rose as a spot up shooter to make room for Melo?

The Bulls have a good balance now, They don't need Melo. Yes, Melo > Korver+Deng. BUT look at the Nuggets when Melo is their, they play 80% isolation when he's on the floor. That don't fit well in Chicago. Rose loves to have the ball in his hands to attack the basket/make plays.
Chicago don't need changes now, just let the guys learning to play together.

So then why were people saying that one of LeBron's better choices was to go to Chicago? He would need the ball as much as Melo.
