Surprised that he got the axe over Mike Brown.

BC would be a good option for Cleveland

Ideal situation for any GM really. Couldn't possibly be any worse.

Going to be interesting to see who they hire to fill that role. Either way there next GM has a bloody mess to fix, so I wish whoever that is best of luck because they are going to need it.

I mean.. Bennett gets benched for most of the season while he could be in D-League developing his game and getting in shape. Isn't that the GM's call?

good move to let him go

drafting bennett alone should have got him fired

Just read what you wrote "fire the owner." You can't fire an owner there buddy, simply because he "owns" the team :cookie:

They need to fire that short, dorky looking nerd kid.
He keeps drafting players that the Cavs don't need.

Grant got such a great opportunity to rebuild the franchise. Two #1 picks and two #4s. Kyrie was the right pick, but unfortunately for them, isn't proving to be a franchise changing talent. And the other 3 selections were reaches.

I think the Raps assistant GM, Jeff Weltman, is a viable candidate, given his success drafting in Milwaukee. In recent drafts, the Bucks found better talent much further down the draft board than the Cavs. Tobias Harris, John Henson, Giannis.

Oh, and Mike Brown is under contract for four more years after this season!

We JUST got Weltman.

It would suck if he got snatched up before he even got a chance to do his job here.

Jeff Weltman, who was a finalist for the Phoenix GM job that went to Ryan McDonough, is now with Toronto and is expected to get a call, league sources say. His father, Harry Weltman, was GM of the Cavs in the 1980s. David Morway was part of the front office that built the Pacers into an Eastern Conference power. Now in Milwaukee, Morway has been a candidate for several GM positions.

It definitely will suck if the Cavs end up taking him. Why can't they just hire BC and leave the Raps alone.

BC would make the Cavs an instant contender. He would trade away picks every other year for the next 6 years for instant gratification, the cavs would finish 8th, then take a slow painful ride to the bottom of the standings over 6 years.

Grant was worse than BC though but at least he didnt leave the team fucked a la the Knicks.
