Caron Butler dealt to Dallas

Quote:
Butler is going to Dallas, but Wiz and Celts will continue to discuss a scaled down deal for Jamison, source says. Boston still interested.

Quote:
Cavs and Celts will go head to head for Jamison, but sources say Cavs are very involved in talks for Amar'e Stoudemire

Apparently the deal is

Butler
Haywood
Stevenson

for

Howard
Gooden
Ross
Singleton

That makes them potentially very good. Losing Gooden is addition by subtraction.

Here's another source, not done yet. But it appears imminent.

Quote:
The Washington Wizards and Dallas Mavericks are close to a major trade that would send Caron Butler, Brendan Haywood and DeShawn Stevenson to Dallas for Josh Howard, Drew Hoofen' and Quintin Ross, according to a league source.

The Mavericks attempted to upgrade at center this summer when they sign Marcin Gortat to an offer sheet that was matched by Orlando.

wow this makes Dallas MUCH better. finally they got a solid C, no more relying on Dampier and Gooden and J Howard was playing like garbage, so this is an amazing deal for Dallas....damn my spurs are gonna have to counter and make a move as well.

Billups > Kidd
Afflalo < Butler
Melo > Marion
K-Mart < Dirk
Nene > Haywood

JR Smith = Terry
Birdman > Dampier
Lawson > Barea/Beaubois

would be a good series to watch.

And more talent going West is always good for the Raptors.

As a Mavericks fan, I'll be absolutely ecstatic if this deal goes through.

This will give them a chance of going far in the West.

Washington gets approximately 17.5Mil in cap space. And if they trade Jamison they'll be looking for more cap space + possibly Arena contract being voided!

They could potentially shed in upwards of 40+Mil.

Wow. Nice trade for the Mavs. They are gonna be much better with this deal. Atleast Boston didn't get Caron. That's al I care about

The Mavs go from an okay defensive team to a lockdown defensive team with this trade, while improving (on paper) on offense at two starting positions at the same time.

The Mavs could potentially go from very good to scary good, maybe great.

Butler
Marion
Dirk
