Default Carmello Anthony looking unstoppable

Anthony continues hot start with 42 in win vs. Grizzlies - USATODAY.com

Quote:
After a taste of playoff success, Carmelo Anthony (FSY) has a voracious appetite for more.

Carmelo Anthony (FSY) extended his torrid start with 42 points in the Denver Nuggets' 133-123 victory against the Memphis Grizzlies on Sunday night.

He has polished his game and is averaging 37.6 points during the Denver Nuggets' 3-0 start after leading the NBA with a 23.6 average in the preseason.

"We've just got to get him the ball and get out of his way," point guard Anthony Carter (FSY) said. "He's making his pass, he's making his shots. He's not forcing too many shots. He's just playing all-around. He's got assists and rebounds. Whenever push comes to shove, we've just got to get the ball to him and get out the way."

Chauncey Billups (FSY) said it's not just Anthony's shot that's so impressive.

"He's just so focused. He's riding a high wave right now, and we're kind of getting on his back," Billups said. "He's playing great basketball. He's scoring a lot of points, but he's playing great basketball. He's making the right decisions when they double or they come across the lane. His energy level's up, he's vocal out there, he's just focused."

Melo signed a longer term than that of Bosh Bron and Wade. Melo is just simply IMHO the best scorer in the NBA (now I didn't say best player)

I'd agree with that statement.

He's way undervalued.

I'm glad somebody else said it. Being a life long Orange(men) fan I have my bias. I'd still say he is one of the most dynamic players to watch. The guy can hit you outside, drive on you, post you up and yes he also can rebound. What a player

He was the guy I was most excited about in '03, especially after the NCAA tourney. I knew Lebron was gone at 1 and I was somehow hoping he'd fall to 4.

I hate talking about hinsight but I must say I was hoping for either melo or wade being 2nd. I watched both play quite a bit seeing that I watch mostly Big East games but hey Bosh could have been Darko right?

Carmelo is definitely the best scorer in the game, if not for Kobe .

He's amazing and I'm excited about Denver. They need a big man who can score though.

I just wish Bosh would go there, so some of the losers on these boards who don't appreciate Bosh's immense talent would not have to "cringe" at the thought of Bosh on the Raptors.

I'll take the #3 scorer who is also the #2 rebounder in the league... over the #1 scorer.

Bosh can knock down the outside shot, get to the rim and get to the line as well.

The problem is its harder throwing up stats for a good team as oppose to a bad team.

Bosh is getting ALL the rebounds for his team with no help and losing as appose to Melo who is scoring and winning.

Melo can do that too and I think he's the best rebounding SF in the league
PF's are easier to come around in the league
Dirk, Pau, Duncan, KG, Bosh, West, Lewis, Odom, Jamison, Al Jefferson, Boozer/Milsap, LMA, Josh Smith, Jeff Green, David Lee, Brand, Sheed, Randolph (both)
all are all stars or really close

Trade Bosh for Melo and this team would be worse. is what I meant.

If I was starting a franchise.. today for the next 5 years I'd take Lebron first. Then Bosh/Howard.

Just my opinion, I'm not saying it's obvious or anything but I think Bosh is super underrated. I hope he gets 1st team NBA this year.

I dunno about super underatted. When Wade and Bosh are off the table the next two players on the Free Agent Radar will be Amare and Bosh. Bosh is a freakn beast.

Well if you would trade Bosh for Melo you have Melo and Hedo as a backup I really think anyone will agree with you there.

Overall, I still say Melo is just a better player.

Melo pretty much said he's in the best shape of his life and that he knows he can score blindfolded... he said this is his year.
