Butler/Haywood to Houston for T-Mac?

The Wizards and Rockets have continued to discuss a possible trade centered around Tracy McGrady, according to NBA front-office sources.

However, nothing is imminent and the two sides continue to talk with other teams ahead of the Feb. 18 trade deadline.

McGrady was granted an indefinite leave from the Rockets in December after his representatives and Houston management mutually agreed to pursue a trade that would find a new home for him.

Sources told ESPN.com that the Rockets have expressed interest in acquiring forward Caron Butler and center Brendan Haywood from the Wizards.

Wow what a steal, Rockets would be scary good if this works out

LJkAze 01-31-2010 12:09 PM

BC has to do the Caldy trade for Butler fast; no more hesitation and just trade dammit :sigh:; unless BC has something up his sleeves like he always does and getting someone better :reporter:

Windex 01-31-2010 12:14 PM

Wiz want expirings or young cheap players cause they're starting over
Caldy isn't young or expiring any time soon

INSIDER 01-31-2010 12:41 PM

wow... now that would be incredible for houston... haywood is extremely underrated... he can rebound and pound down low.
has a team went winless in the second half of the season? the wiz surely would if this trade went down.

N64 01-31-2010 12:52 PM

NooooooooooOOOOOooOoooo

BC get something done, I know the Wiz are looking for expiring contracts and Tmac's is the biggest but HOU gets so much talent back

I wonder what we couldve done with JOs contract if he was still here lol

idk about winless. they probably play the Nets a couple of times ;)

but I'm sure they're gonna trade Jamison too if they do this one

so their draft pick is def gonna be good that's for sure

Washington is gonna be huge offseason players, just wait.

Miller-10 million exp
TMac-23 million exp

Jamieson for Big Z-11 million exp

stating to add up bigtime.

And I would love to get Miller on the Raps.

Just imagine if they could convince Haywood to re-up in the off season...

Brooks/Lowry
Butler/Budinger
Ariza
Landry/Scola(if he resigns)
Yao/Haywood

osamu 01-31-2010 03:53 PM

Damn,
Haywood/Yao
Scola/Landry
Ariza/Battier
Butler/Budinger
Brooks/Lowry

Someone has to stop this, it wouldnt be fair

finstock 01-31-2010 04:02 PM

I forgot about Battier.. dang, that's a savage line up.

Gurk 01-31-2010 08:15 PM

O god. Houston is already playing good just imagine them with a elgeit scorer and a legit big man as well

Miller is a very smart player, pesky defender, excellent shooter.

Talented guys like that are always welcome on my team.

Bmats7 01-31-2010 09:27 PM

Butler would not start over Battier.

Would it matter. Butler is a better ball handler

What difference does it make if it's just conceptual at this point??

If they do this trade with Houston, then another player will likely be coming off of the Wizards books.

Butler + Haywood = roughly $ 16 mill
TMac = $23 mill

So I suspect that the Wiz will try to offload DeShawn Stevenson as well.

If the Wiz dump Butler, Stevenson and Haywood, then they most certainly are going to dump Jamison.

With Butler, Jamison, Stevenson, and Haywood off the books, the Wiz would have less than $30 million in committed salary for next season. And if they voided Gilbert's contract, they'd have less than $10 million in committed contracts (but they could still make Foye a qualifying offer worth approx $5 mill).

Needless to say, the Wiz could have a drastically altered lineup next season. If they cut all these players loose, I doubt they stand a good chance of attracting a big name free agent. If they do all this wheeling and dealing, the Wiz will probably go cheap for a couple of years and try to stock pile cheap, young talent.

Jose isn't old? what are you saying?

Either way we would have more luck with Kevin Martin or Josh Howard:(
