Bucks Give Villanueva Another Shot

Anyone think this is CV's last chance to shine? I mean, he been given a couple opportunities to step up in which he hasn't taken advantage of. Skiles won't put up with shit especially Charlie's sulking which we've seen often in his short professional career. Anyone think this could be his year now that he'll likely being one of their starting five?

“I was, like, ‘OK, whew.’ ”

Indeed, the 6-foot-11 Villanueva is being given a great opportunity to seize the starting power forward position, with Milwaukee’s new management team in place with general manager John Hammond and coach Scott Skiles.

Yi is in New jersey and Jefferson is taking over as the Bucks’ starting small forward. It’s a much different situation from a year ago, when Villanueva wasn’t sure whether he or Yi would be starting, and the 7-foot rookie gained the nod in training camp and for the first 48 games of the season.

“It’s funny how things work,” Villanueva said in an interview Thursday. “When the season was over, I had my doubts. I didn’t think I was going to be back.

“I hate to make excuses, but now I’m clear-minded. I already know what to expect. It (the situation last season) was very hard. I was very frustrated at times, my minutes being inconsistent. But that’s the past; it’s over with. It was a learning experience.”

CV is way too inconsistent. And i'm surprised he's still with the Bucks.I think they're hoping he stays healthy and they'll deal him by the deadline.

The Bucks have a loaded offensive starting lineup but their bench is awful. I still think with a good PG CV could become a very good PF for years to come. Hes one of those talents that needs players/coaches thatll keep him in line, and when he is he is one of the more rare talented guys in the league.

i think cv will be good this year. He does not have to worry about Yi, the most overated player to come into the league for a long time. He has a good young PG in sessions, a decent centre in Bogut and of course Jefferson and Redd. If the bucks get some consistency they could be ok this year.

CV will get alot of praise this season...
the reason; because he'll put up 18 ppg and grab 7 boards.
he wont play a lick of defense, but it doesnt matter because no one watches the bucks play... everyone will just see the boxscores and the hilights and think he's awesome.

CV needs a guy likes Skiles to keep him on the straight and narrow.

Good luck to him.

shit. i forgot about that trade.

the thing that always bugged me about Charlie (and other players like him) is that defence and rebounding is so much about hard work and effort. He's so talented that offensively he will be succesful just by who he is. Defensivley however, it's not so easy for him - but really it "Shouldn't" be hard for anyone. It's up to him to go and get his.
