Thumbs up Brandon Roy Training for Comeback

Quote:
Brandon Roy confirmed rumors of his return to the NBA by tweeting on Friday night that hes been training daily, his health is good and is planning on returning to the league next season. But since he doesnt have Twitter, he made the announcement under the account for Will Conroy, his friend in the NBDL.

Alex Kennedy of HoopsWorld.com put the series of tweets together:

Lord willing, I will play again soon, Roy wrote in a series of tweets. Yes, Im preparing for a comeback. Im training daily. Im preparing for a return next year. I appreciate the love. Hopefully Ill be back on the floor soon. Health is good.

When asked by a fan if he could return to the Portland Trailblazers, Roy said its highly unlikely hed return to the Blazers for next season:

I wish, but due to the NBA rules I cannot play in Portland until 2014-2015, Roy tweeted. Im looking to return sooner. Thanks for your support. Im fortunate to have played for such a great fan base. No matter where I play, Portland will always have a special place in my heart.

Probably won't come to Toronto, but that would be cool if he does.

How's his knees..?
He has no meniscus so I would think it'd be very difficult for him.

If his knees hold up he could be a key piece off the bench on a championship team.

Maybe he could be like a Grant Hill? I hope the raps pick him up as a vet off the bench type player, I love Roy.

I'm really not all that up-to-date on the situation, so I'm wondering what it is that doesn't allow Roy to play with the Blazers. Was he amnestied or something like that?

I think Lee Harvey Oswald has a better chance of coming back at this point.

he didn't want to retire, i think he was more pushed towards it by the blazers. based on his last few games, he could definitely still have an impact of the court, just not for 35 minutes a night. roy as a 7th/8 man playing 15-20 minutes a night, knees or no knees would still be a pretty solid commodity. he just better recognize his role and not cry about it.

Brandon with gimped knees was still better then any of the other Blazers, besides maybe LaMarcus. Blazers frickin' suck, and would throw him back on the court 2 days out of knee surgery. Perhaps taking a year off has rejuvenated Roy's bounce? Even if he can't fly high anymore, he's still a very intelligent player, hard competitor, and a great personality to have on any team.

I like BR, but honestly, we shouldn't risk signing him. I know Roy mentioned that he feels better and is ready to back, but that's not a big surprise, because his knee's are rested. even if he does personal training, it's still not intense as in NBA training. So I assume, his knee problems would show off quickly after his return.

Didn't he go over to Germany to see the doctor that worked on Kobe?
