T Wolves Brandon Roy struggling and once again having knee issues

Quote:
Brandon Roy did not return after halftime of the Minnesota Timberwolves’ 96-94 win over Indiana on Friday because of a sore right knee.

"He came back when we rested it a little bit," Rick Adelman said of the last time Roy felt soreness in the knee. "So I really don't know. I have no clue."

Roy is averaging 5.8 points and 4.6 rebounds in 25 minutes per game.

Who didn't see this coming? I love the guy, but he should just call it quits.

He'll be fine. He played with bad knees in his last 2 seasons over here.

And it killed his career. This guy is not destined for a long career, you can't play very long in the NBA with bad knees.

He wants his 25 mins a game when he should be really thinking about 10.... it was absolutely inevitable. I'm surprised he's even playing on back to backs. It's just turning a blind eye to a bum knee

I remember there was a point with the Trailblazers where they said that his knee couldn't possibly get any worse, so there was no harm in him playing. I do wonder how much of the arc of his career was determined by his stubborness vs the negligence of the team and its doctors.

His incessant desire to remain a starter likely cost him a year or two at most, but still.... when the dogs are barking, give them a much kneeded rest!

He's not going to be able to walk if his knees have to go through another surgery after this one.

I really think he just needs to take it easy for a year or two. Stay in NBA shape and continue to work on your game and recover, your knee is the most valuable thing in sports, He is one of my favorites, All the best to Roy, hopefully this will be the last of his knee injuries.

Well, that's that....

Quote:
Brandon Roy admitted that his knees have reached Level III arthritis.

"Level IV," Roy says fearlessly, "is when you get a knee replacement."

Roy has made peace with the possibility that he might not return from his latest arthroscopic procedure.

"I wouldn't be disappointed either way," he said. "If it ends in three weeks, it ends. It's over. I'm totally satisfied with what I've done. I know the sacrifice and the effort that I put into coming back. It took a lot of discipline to get to where I am. That's all I care about: how hard I've worked. So I can't say I'm disappointed, that would be selfish. I was just a normal player my junior year in college, and everything since has been a major blessing.

"I've had an unbelievable run."

I got tickets for tomorrows Blazers/Wolves game. Figured I'd see Brandon, nope, oh well. The crappiest part about these tix, is I had a hard time finding someone to go to the game with me. Blazers aren't that bad, c'mon people. It's like I was holding bags of smelly garbage or somethin'.

I feel SO bad for this guy. What a fantastic and gut-wrenching attempt at a comeback. It still was technically a comeback, he achieved it! Atleast he should be financially stable for a long time.
