Whoah! Shocking that he's actually retiring. Portland is now the what-could-have-been superteam with Roy and Oden.

Had Roy, Oden and Aldridge all been blessed with good health, they'd have drafted their own big three and a much more compatible big three as well. Obviously Roy was an injury concern from the beginning but nobody could have foreseen Oden only playing 25 percent of the time despite having two different sized legs.

At least he put in work one last time and showed us that it was only his health that was holding him back.

Roy was great tho, sad to hear this.
And now Aldridge, apparently, has a troubling heart condition. Truly. an unlucky draft class...

people are now saying that Bargnani was a good pick. i'm not saying Bargnani is a bad player; i love him. but we have to consider what a team of bosh, roy, and vc might have done at the time. would have Carter stayed? would have Bosh now stayed? would we be one of the best in the east? who knows, but to argue whether the Bargs pick was good OR bad is completely unjustified and unnecessary.

video Report-
Black Friday for Trail Blazers

As far as Brandon goes, easily the most inspirational Blazer to lace 'em up since Drexler.

Carter was traded a year and a half before we drafted Bargs. Not sure about Bosh though. And with Roy's condition and pending retirement, it's hard to argue that we should have taken him over Bargs.

I agree. If anyone questions whether Bargs was a bad pick, they should question whether Bosh was a poor pick too.. Wade would have been awesome to have.

It would be a classy move the organization if they can give him a coaching job.

I remember Kobe saying Roy was the hardest SG to guard in the NBA.
