Thanks, these fucko's always wanna tear people down.

All I'm saying is the COMPARISON PEOPLE MAKE between Bargnani and roy all the time are no longer there.

Fuck man, nobody said Bargnani was better than Rondo, but who the fuck wanted rondo?????

Just bad luck for Roy and Portland. Portland were contenders when healthy. I would like to see the new Dallas and Portland win.

and to add fuel to the fire, the Blazers new GM traded Jerryd Bayless (mini-Roy) for an empty box, two days before the season opener.

You know what that dude said? He said he didn't want teammates or fans to get too sentimentally attached to one n' other.
You believe that sheeit? Like we're working on a clone army over here or some b.s.

You also said top 3 center, which is far from the truth.

he's a top 3 scoring C... in fact he's #2...
this hasnt been a C friendly season in the NBA either, so i wouldnt say he isnt top 5.
he's arguably up there. other than D12 who's in the top 3?

I'll be quick to point out that the Blazers wanted to win so bad, and so did Roy, but the organization never spent the bread to get more shooters on the team to take pressure off Roy in the offense. The kid worked tirelessly, got his ass kicked everynight out there to make a few baskets, lead our squad from the brink extinction to become a halfway decent team, and the front office chowed on corndogs and watched a budget Blazer team self implode due to unfortunate injuries, Roy's being caused from overtime work, no question about that.

We're still at .500 though! Guys just stink in the clutch this year, specially 'dem road games

I agree, he should be ranked pretty high up due to his scoring, but looking at what a C should actually be doing, at least to some degree, I'd say it takes him out of the conversation.

The reason is simple, teams passed on Roy because he was a very high risk player. Colangelo's team did the research, and made the decision to pass on a sure fire SG star you could insert for immediate success and take a raw but potentially dangerous player 5 years down the road.

5 years later, Roy is a shell and may be done, because of his knee's, and Bargnani is emerging as a top three center in the NBA, and is still a kid.

Nice to win one!
Perhaps you need to clarify yourself better.

Toronto has no centers. Bargnani forced to play as a center, and now he is a center, top 3 center?
When CAVS had only Snow and rookie Gibson, Larry Hughes was forced to be their point guard. Is Hughes a point guard? Course not...

He's 5th or 6th in the East alone, behind Bogut, Horford, Noah, Howard at least and I'm guessing some would say Lopez as well.

Just curious what did you think of Pritchard while he was there?

And that's a ridiculous statement. Considering how close your team was in the West and how hard they played the Lakers I thought you'd want a tight knit unit.

At least you have assets to trade and continue to build.

you couldn't be more right.

Even Aldridge hasn't proven he is a better building block than Bargnani, so really it's not clear who the best player from the lottery that year.

anytime Acie... It's gets tiring after a while reading the passive agressive shit on here backed by questionable substance.

I made a post and had an angle, you missed it, I can't help you, you have to try to keep up.

Its a call on the media's constant stomping of the raps and thier picks.

Now you have one that turns out, and they say very little.

Whatever... i don't give a fuck.... put Bargs on a decent team and then se what kind of chatter he gets

If that's what you meant, then you should have said that. You're a master of hyperbole and shouldn't be upset when called out for it. I agree that the criticism of Colangelo for picking Bargnani has always been unfair but that's not exactly what you said.

I got your point and I agree with it, but you also said he's the best player from the draft by a long shot and whether that's what you meant to say or not - he's not, which is all I was pointing out.

On the topic at hand, yes, Brandon Roy is done. He was done in the playoffs last year. For the person wondering what was up with their staff letting him play a week after surgery, Roy's knee was already this bad last year. He could not do any more damage by playing on it, so there was no reason for them to really keep him out as long as he could manage the pain.

Bargnani being picked #1 has nothing to do with Roy vindicating the concerns about his knee, since there was no way for a GM to be able to predict that Roy would be an all-star one year and average the next. We can't cheat with hindsight to criticize what we ourselves would not have known at the time. I think Colangelo made the best pick with the information available at the time, and that's all that could really be asked of him.

Very sorry to see Roy's career begin to go into Twilight stage but I feel terrible for the Trailblazers in particular; they just can't catch a break or, rather, they catch too many.
