Celtics Boston trying to aquire Shane Battier?

Quote:
Want to hear probably the most underrated and quiet trade that is going to pay huge dividends come playoff time?

Itís that Shane Battier may be traded to the Boston Celtics and that they may only have to give up Jermaine OíNealís expiring corpse, Avery Bradley and a draft pick to get him. Once the final deal is done, another team and some draft picks will probably be involved in some form or another.

The deal isn't done, but some well-connected sources say the deal could be done very quickly.

Battier is a consummate team guy and does all those little things that help a team win; he would fit in seamlessly with the Celtics. Heís going to be able to help the Celtics bench a great deal and will be able to give Paul Pierce a good breather every night.

This is going to allow the Celtics to potentially to be able to go 10 deep down the stretch once Marquis Daniels gets backómaybe even 11 deep once Delonte West gets back.

By adding Battier the Celtics bench would be Nate Robinson, Von Wafer, Battier, Glen Davis and Shaq.

Wow... what an amazing gain for the Celtics if this goes through. Shane Battier is an excellent defender.

JO(another big), Bradley(promising rookie) and a pick? A LITTLE too much for someone in there mid 30's no?

Although it would be hard for Bradley to develop when always backing up Rondo.

I don't know what to think about the rumour.

I wonder if the Raptors could have gotten Battier for Stojakovic's expiring corpse?

Id take Bradley, what with Houston already having Brooks and Lowrey

JO and Wright or Weems/cash to Houston(preferably Weems)

Battier to Boston

Bradley to the Raps

JO is horrible now. Losing Bradley doesn't mean anything when your a championship team thats going for there 2nd title.

Boston wants a championship and they're doing everything they can to make it happen. They aren't worried about future rebuilding right now.. so in that case Shane Battier is an amazing pickup.

That's true, but guys this is probably their last legit shot at a championship this year, so it would be nice to have some pieces for rebuild in 1-2 years time.

But whatever, he'll never be as good as Rondo.

So go for it Celtics
