Default Bosh vs Amare

So, for all those that would never have taken Amare over Bosh to be the franchise guy...I wonder what you're all thinking now?

Personally I was one of them, and I have my tail between my legs right now. Amare is showing he has that next level gear to put a team on his back. He's not good enough to make the Knicks a championship team by himself but he sure is showing something to me.

Credit the organization for putting some good pieces around him and i'm sure they're not done.

The game against Boston was a lot of fun to watch last night...and the Knicks almost pulled it out and Amare hit a 3 fractions of a second after the buzzer went that would have won it.

I remember last season, quite a few times here people said Bosh>Amare, and that Amare's success was mostly due to Nash. lol

Not only that but you're forgetting about the Dantoni factor.

No, i'm comparing Amare as an option one this year to Bosh as an option one his whole career in Toronto, and this isn't just about stats. Amare is showing the type of leadership that we always wanted out of Bosh, but didn't consistantly get and my point was most people didn't think Amare had it in him and would have taken Bosh over him any day of the week.

I have a feeling some people are changing their minds now.

it was because we were homers and were just trying to make ourselves feel better by believing we had a top talent. Well maybe not all of us, but some for sure. Toronto fans are pretty classic examples of overhyping and oversupporting local players to the point of not being able to be fully unbiased.

A'mare looks like he's getting bigger and stronger. Last night I thought he looked like David Robinson in his prime, body wise, with better athleticism.

Oh i don't know, this teams fanbase is the most critical on it's players of any Toronto sports team imo.

Amare's sheer athleticism is what has always been what makes him better than Bosh. The guy is a beast. If he wanted, he could be a stud defender and a stud offensive player. If Bosh wanted, he could get his points and rebounds, but never impact the game like Amare could.

I always knew Amare was good but how the hell is he doing so well? Did he always play this well in Phoenix?

Amare was lacking last season. Before last season I considered them pretty equal.

we can talk about leadership now, but Amare hasn't seen too much of a tough slog yet. When we saw that in Phoenix he wasn't always so exemplary. But there are always circumstances that we aren't aware of.

I never liked the Knicks, but it is good to see them with a decent team. It definitely keeps things interesting.

the best way i can put it is that i never felt like Bosh was unstoppable, or that there wasn't anything a team could do to throw him off his game. no one's been able to stop amare from getting his game off.

that's certainly true at the moment, and it's exciting. Will it continue? We'll see. It certainly wasn't the case in the past.

Please, i listen to the radio every day. You have fans thinking versteeg is a first line player, they overate Kaberle, look at the Domi infatuation the fanbase had all those years. And every year they think they're a playoff contender.

Now look at this board alone, and see what's being said about the Raptor players, hell someone on here said yesterday that Landry fields has more BBIQ then our whole roster combined, a rookie with what..25 games under his belt? Take a look at this place, every player on this roster gets bashed at some point, some on a daily basis. I find Leaf fans way more optomistic and Raptor fans more pessimistic.

As you just said, your source is the radio. Enough said.

30yrs as a leaf fan and getting anoyed by leaf fans perception of talent, and 15yrs of being a Raptors fan. That has formed my opinions along with media. Shit, i was annoyed by Leaf fans even when i was a Leaf fan. And by radio, i meant dumb leaf fans that call in.
