Heat Boozer to Miami?

Another ESPN Insider rumour. Miami is going to have to show Wade something if they want to keep him..this might be it.

Quote:
The Miami Heat have opened discussions with the Utah Jazz on a Carlos Boozer deal in advance of Thursday’s 3 p.m. deadline, according to NBA front-office sources.

Sources told ESPN.com that Miami, with its courting of Amare Stoudemire fading, turned its attention to another marquee frontcourt player in its ongoing quest to keep star guard Dwyane Wade happy before Wade becomes a free agent July 1.

But after the teams commenced talks Thursday, one source with knowledge of Utah’s thinking said it was “unlikely” that the Heat could offer enough to tempt the Jazz to back off its long-held stance against trading Boozer this season.

Armed with the expiring contracts of Udonis Haslem and Quentin Richardson, Miami made an “unexpected” offer to the Jazz this morning, one source told ESPN.com.

Utah, though, has insisted for weeks that it prefers keep Boozer for the rest of the season, even though he can leave the Jazz without compensation this summer as an unrestricted free agent.

One source told ESPN.com that the Jazz and Heat might need a third team regardless to complete a Boozer trade if the talks regain steam before the deadline.

Jazz are doing good right now, don't know if they want to ruin chemistry

Unless Beasley is involved this won't happen. And if Beasley is swapped for Boozer Miami wouldn't be much better off if at all. I don't think Utah does this for some expirings.

Riley is crazy to think that they can get boozer for haslem and chalmers. They are going to need to offer wright or cook as well

Three scrubs for Boozer? Utah would be nuts to do anything unless they get Beasley.

Then again, if Miami can pull this off and convince Lebron to go there in the summer w/JO's expiring they would be a contender.

Wade
Lebron
Beasley
Boozer

I don't think Sloan is a Beasley-admirer.

I would expect they get picks rather than Beasley. And JO probably. JO is an upgrade over Okur defensively and Millsap should be fine as a starter. But I agree I think it's a loing shot due to the Jazz swinging right now.

No he isn't. Riley isn't fond of Beasley at all. All throughout the lead up to last year (2008) draft, Riley was hoping that Rose would land in their laps. But Riley knows Beasley's worth. He's not going to trade him for nothing.

+1 Haslem is very underrated. Tough, good defender, good rebounder.

Boozer is undersized and overpaid for what he does.

Boozer has more talent but is way overpaid and seems disloyal imo.

As hot as Utah is right now they have no shot at beating LA, Dallas, or Denver in a seven game series. Maybe they pack it in for this year, shed some cap space, put themselves in a position to sign a big name this summer and go for it next year.

Jazz are sitting 3rd in West right now. That being said, if they can get beasley I say go for it.
