Boozer: Im opting out

Source

Quote:
"I'm opting out. No matter what, I'm going to get a raise regardless," Boozer told ESPN.com. "I am going to opt out, I don't see why I wouldn't, I think it's a very good business decision for me and my family, but I'd also like to see what happens with the Jazz and stay here."
Good for him, wouldnt he be nice hear instead of Bosh....

I'm not surprised.

Boozer has the type of personality that he wouldn't care if he robbed a blind man

oh wait ...

I saw Boozer on E:60 and he came across as a nice guy and very caring father, why shouldnt he do whats best for him and his family $ wise?? Why act like you wouldnt?

Because he already has enough money as it is. Hell, he has enough to provide for his family forever. I'd respect him more if he just said, greed. Simple enough.

The being said, even if he left that Jazz, Millsap is more than an adequate replacement.

He is probably well off, but after taxes players dont make asmuch as ppl seem to think, they are obviously not hurting either, but the window to make the huge $ isnt that big, i think only a fool doesnt look around at his best options, the owners are the really rich guys, and i bet they didnt get there passing up better deals for themselves.

Boozer also spends alot of his own $ to help kids around America get bone marrow transplant like his son needed, and believe me, its not a cheap operation, seemed like a decent enough guy to me.

Boozer has already said that he wants to play in South Florida...and with Marion's contract off the books this season, they should have teh space to accomodate Carlos.

LOLOLOLOL

you guys need to realize, there is no such thing as loyalty anymore in the NBA.
players dont care about anything else but making the most money.
its a business pure and simple.

if the jazz are smart, they let Boozer walk. Millsap is their PF of the future. he's a double/double machine with no ego and wont get injured.
they would honestly be idiots if they re-signed him... in fact, i'm willing to bet they want him to opt out.

Milsap will be a suitable replacement for the Jazz

The Jazz are laughing their asses off right now. Millsap is a BEAST.

And if Boozer wants to play in MIA... him and Wade? Wow.

He shouldn't of said this publicly, he's just gonna get heat for his. Maybe when he said it he was living up to his name, cause a sober man wouldn't say something so dumb

i too dont understand what the hell he was thinking.
its midseason, you're team is back playing good ball, and you just come out and say this?
he's an idiot.
this is one case where fans should boo him every chance they get.

it's his way of alerting all the NBA teams that he's willing to relocate. so now teams can start to do things to try to lure him. they know they actually have a chance.

it's surprising he did this, but i understand. who doesn't want more money. everyone always wants more even when you've got enough. EVERYONE!

This is a dumb move by Boozer. Given his past with Cleveland, you'd think that he'd think that this isn't going to help him value wise.

i just think he's come to realize that his job might be slightly reduced lowering his overall value. smart on him getting his name out before people forget how well he's performed over the past couple of seasons.

he's not really burning the jazz either. they have a 12 million dollar expiring contract on their hands.

How is being honest burning the Jazz? Would you rather a player with no intention of staying waste your time and not let you have the opportunity to trade him? What he is saying is actually helpful to the Jazz.

I don't have a huge problem with it, Boozer is one of the few money first guys who still works and plays hard. It's guys like Deng who deserve scorn...

its a slap in their faces.
he doesnt give a shit, and he's disrespecting his teamates and the fans.
he's all but saying he doesnt want to play for them next year.
a classier move would of been to just tell the gm behind closed doors... not to the media.

Probably true, but i dont fault a guy for honesty, so what you rather not hear the truth to your face?? Thats childish, he is a man speaking his mind, better that then Tmac'ing his team.

This is the kind of think that deserves to be discussed behind closed doors and should not be something that you run to the media to. Don't forget that he also was in a similar situation with Cleveland where he verbally agreed to sign with the Cavaliers after opting out only to run to the highest bidder.
