Heat Boozer or Brand to Heat??

There is a rumour that the Heat are interested in adding Carlos boozer or Elton Brand in 2009 depending on if they're able to draft Rose.

If you had a choice who would you pick Elton Brand or Carlos Boozer? I would certainly choose Boozer.

If healthy, Brand if definitely the better of the two. But, Brand has been struggling with injuries as of late as Boozer was earlier in his career. Right now, its a tough call but if the Heat get either, as well retain Marion to play along side Wade and possibly Rose ... then WOW .... one scary team.

I agree, if they get Rose and one of Brand/Boozer and Keep Marion and Wade. This would put them right back at or near the top of the conf. Especially since Boston will be too old by then and same can be said for Detroit.

It would be nice to see the top 4 teams in the East look like this in a few years in no particular order:

Miami
Orlando
Toronto
Cleveland

This is if BC makes the right moves which i have confidence he will. (Fingers crossed).

My question is why would Utah think about trading Boozer unless they can get a significant upgrade over him from someone?

Hell, Miami can be interested in anyone they want. As a Raptors fan, I'm interested in acquiring Dwight Howard but it'll never happen.

It wouldn't be a trade. Miami is talking about going after Boozer if he opts out of his contract after next season which he's expected to do! Click on the Link above.

Yeah, as Doc said when Brand is healthy hes a level higher than Boozer. I dont know what happened to Boozer in the postseason but thats gonna haunt him until he comes back strong in the playoffs next year or whenever because he was weak.

If they do get Rose they better look to get sf/pf that are really good shooters or teams are just gonna zone them.

is this one of those "Brand will sign for the MLE to win' rumours? I really don't understand how the heat will be able to fork over max-type contracts with both Marion and Wade making so much money. That's unless the Heat decide to let everyone walk and replace everyone with 10 day contracts...

It depends on what Marion and Brand are looking for funk, because if the Celts can do it with their big three (KG, Allen and Pierce) then I don't see why it isn't feasible for the Heat to do the same.

There's no way Marion stays on for little cash. Marion is all about himself and the cash. If they want to speed up the rebudiling process, I would say they should put their #2 pick on the block and force anyone who wants it would have to take on the contracts of Blount AND Banks in addition to sending some talent the other way.

How much is he looking for Hoops? I was under the impression that he's a $15 to $16 million per season type guy. You think he's going to want more than $20 million per season?

He's gonna want at least as much as he's making right now. He thinks he's a max player. So you're look at AT LEAST $15 mil per. I mean, if Rashard Lewis makes $126 mil, he wants to get paid at least that much.

Trading Boozer might actually not be a bad idea for Utah... with him and Memo playing at the same time, they're too weak defensively to really contend. They have to score like 115 ppg (which they did this year) to even get the 5th seed and lose in the second round.

If you look at Orlando's roster, after getting rid of Grant Hill,(Max contract/16M)
They had room for Lewis. Howard and Nelson had just signed a second extension-2M 6 years, and had a lot of room to spare. It'll be a long time until those 3 split up. Orlando had room but I don't think 16M max contract was necessary for Lewis..
What is Miami going to give for Boozer/Brand? Keeping Marion,Wade, and the 2nd pick?

If Miami is going after Brand/Boozer, Marion most likely will not be back since its pretty hard to sign 2 max contract guys in one year, or sign one max guy and trade for the other in Boozers case.

they did it by sending away young talented players and expiring contracts. the heat don't have any young talent aside from wade and whatever their second rounder pans out to be. i honestly don't see how it would work trade-wise or capwise.
