Default Bobcats offered Felton for TJ??

Felton is a talented point guard, but he doesn't fit the pass-first mold that Larry Brown wants in his point guards. With rookie D.J. Augustin looking like the point guard of the future in Charlotte, the chances Felton heads somewhere else are pretty high.

The Bobcats would like to get something for him before he hits restricted free agency this summer and have been shopping him since before the 2008 draft. They tried to swap Felton for T.J. Ford twice in June -- once with the Raptors and once with the Pacers. More recently, they almost had a deal completed with Dallas a few weeks ago, but an Augustin abdominal strain forced them to pull back. With Augustin feeling better and nearing a return, the Bobcats could be ready to pull the trigger again.

I like Felton. He is not a true PG and not a completely pass-first guard but he can easily get ten assists in a good game. His bball IQ is good and he has skills despite he doesn't have a good shot. A very good player IMO. We can offer them Kapono+filler for him. He can play two different guard positions in Raptors uniform.

that would have been a horrible trade for us when we had TJ.
the whole reason we were trading TJ was to make room for Caldy... why would we take on another PG?
glad we didnt.
i'm not a fan of felton's game at all.
he isnt very quick for his size, and his shot is not strong enough.

I remember the Raps being high on Felton in the 05 draft. He had some good workouts in Toronto. He doesn't like being the backup in Charlotte, so bringing him here isn't going to make much sense because he's not going to like being second fiddle to Calderon.
