Blake for Melo being discussed?

Quote:

With the looming possibility of Carmelo Anthony departing New York as a free agent this summer, New York Knicks officials have discussed proposing a trade to the Los Angeles Clippers for Blake Griffin, according to league sources.

The Clippers appear to be the more apprehensive of the two teams because Griffin is having a terrific season, especially of late. The 24-year-old power forward has averaged 26 points and nearly 11 rebounds in his past 10 games.

One source close to the situation said the Clippers' latest internal discussion ended in favor of keeping Griffin.

The Clippers are on the Knicks' radar because it is an open secret throughout the league that Anthony and Clippers star point guard Chris Paul have wanted to play together since 2010. That sentiment between the two players has not changed, according to sources.

I could definitely see the Knicks benefitting from this but not so sure that it'd be a great deal for the Clips....

This is just unsubstantiated BS from Broussard. There's 0 value in this trade for LAC. They have Griffin locked up long term, he loves LA, he's a better player than Melo is right now, and he's going to be a better player in the future. He's looked like a dominant force this season and his improvement has been substantial. He fits better with CP3 than Melo would, and LAC would have 0 depth inside if this were to happen.

This rumor is complete BS.

Yup. I never believe a word that Broussard says. He is one of the most clueless guys out there.

Sources say Clippers management also has had internal discussions about such a deal but that the clubs have not yet spoken to one another about a potential trade.

:haha:

Saw a stat recently that in the last few seasons, when the game is within 3 points in the last 40 secs melo is 1-16fg!

That's definitely not true:

It was on espn, I think it was for last second shots. Yes I remember, they showed every miss

ClutchCity 01-04-2014 04:13 PM

Both of those shots are pretty much last second shots and definitely within the last 40 seconds and within 3 points. He had 2 in one game. I don't see how 1-16 can be accurate. He's hit other shots as well that I can remember such as these ones:

I'm no Melo fan but that doesn't sound right to me either.... Pretty sure he's hit quite a few in the last 5 secs.

halphbreedballer 01-04-2014 04:32 PM

This would be a really dumb trade for LA

They stated that at the end of the NYK/Houston game on the air.

That's what ya'll get for believing garbage spilled from ESPN Insider.
It's sad that folks actually pay for that garbage.

those videos are clearly outdated, I don't know if 1 from 16 is truth, but this certainly is not the way to prove it to be false

bjjs 01-04-2014 05:56 PM

I believe the statistic was for this season only.

Nope. On the broadcast they stated it was over the last couple seasons.

Agree with both you and Ball Don't Lie. Broussard is nothing but an idiot that just spews garbage for the sake of ratings for ESPN. He also is nothing but a bible thumping moron, so fuck whatever he has to say :yeah:

He probably took more than 16 shots in last 40 seconds this season alone

40sec? They were saying final shots of games in the final seconds.

I don't know what they were saying but LKeet's post doesn't seem to be far from true
