Default Bird back with Pacers

Larry Bird is returning to the front office of the Indiana Pacers as president of basketball operations.

Bird took one season formally away from the Pacers.

Kevin Pritchard and Donnie Walsh were in charge of basketball operations in Bird's absence.

Bird briefly spoke with the Sacramento Kings about an advisory position with the new owners this offseason.

They need bird to add more role players because clearly they didn't do that under the highly touted Pritchard who did nothing to make this roster better

David West and George Hill? Not trading Lance Stephenson at his lowest point? I'd say he's put together a nice group around his 2 core players. Getting bench help is the easy part.

It was Bird who built the starting 5. Then Walsh took over for a year and signed the bench. Sadly, Walsh locked some of these bench guys into long deals.

I don't think Pritchard was ever truly in charge, he was their #2 guy both under Bird and Walsh.

Anyway, good for the Pacers. Bird should be the new NBA Logo. Elite at everything, playing, coaching, managing.
