Big Baby for Augustin?

Quote:
The Boston Celtics and Charlotte Bobcats are discussing a trade centered around Glen Davis and D.J. Augustin, according to league sources.

The Bobcats have been searching for a power forward, and the 6-foot-9 Davis could be their man. The Celtics, meanwhile, have been longing for a backup point guard, and Augustin, who's fallen out of favor with Charlotte coach Larry Brown, would be more than adequate.

Another case of Larry Brown mishandling young talent. That being said, I never saw Augustine as a special player anyway.

Augustin was SICK at Texas, and he's shown flashes of sickness in Charlotte. He's just been too inconsistent to be worth his salt.

This is a risk for Boston though. Is having an inconsistent backup point guard worth giving up insurance for one leg Garnett?

Big Baby is a waste of space. This would be a steal for the Celtics. If the Cats shipped out Sean May, why would they want his twin in Big Baby?

Baby is a solid player off the bench, but Augustin would solve a lot of Bostons problems off the bench. Their offence is way too slow when Rondo comes out, and he'll be able to play at a fast tempo and get other people involved, something House and Daniels cant do. That and hes a good ballhandler and shooter. He'll fit in perfectly.

Eddie House isn't a PG. He's just a real undersized 2.

House is a pure shooter who cant dribble.

Augustin is a point guard who can handle shoot and pass. Hes struggled this year in a slow offence and hasnt done what Brown has wanted, and really needs a scenery change

^^^ agreed.
A backup PG would really help Boston. House/Daniels both are better playing off the ball. If DJ can regain his form he would help Boston off the bench. This current Celtics roster does't have enough IMO to comp. with the Cavs/Magic and possibly ATL in the p/o [East].

IMO that would be a good move for Boston. They will get a good point guard who is only in his second year. Lots of people struggle in their sophmore year(ie. Bargs). I think DJ can be a good player for the Celts
