Default The best up and coming teams? The best teams with young potential and talent?

What teams would you rate have the best future in terms of potential with their current young players? Here's my list:

1. OKC - Durant, Westbrook, Green, Harden, Ibaka: All positions covered and amazingly all under 25 and each haven't even reached their prime yet.

2. Memphis - Great core of Gay, Gasol, Conley and Mayo for now.

3. LA Clippers - Believe it or not, I think they are in good position for the future. Griffin, Gordon, Aminu and probably another top-5 draft position this summer.

4. Washington - Wall, Mcgee, Blatche and Young.

5. Sacramento - Evans, Cousins, Thompson and Casspi.

6. Minnesota - Beasley playing upto potential, Love putting up God-like numbers, Flynn should be good and Mlicic?(LOL)

7. Philidelphia - Great young core, just have to get some chemistry going. Turner, Holiday, Williams, Young and Speights.

8. Golden State - Curry, Wright, Biedrins, Udoh, Ellis and Lee a little older but still young.

9. Toronto - DeRozan, Davis, Amir, Bargs, Bayless

10. Indiana - Hibbert, Hansboroguh and Collision. Granger in his prime.

11. New jersey - Lopez, one of the top big men in the league at only 22 and Favors should be a great PF in years to come.

Young but hard to include because age of some other teammates: Bulls, Knicks, Portland, Milwaukee, Atlanta and Detroit.

Where would you rank these teams?

1.OKC is gold
2.Clippers. It's sounds crazy, but Clippers really looks like a top team in the near future.
3. Minnesota. Everyone is young and promising. Very nice team.
4/5. Philidelphia/Indiana looking good

Not promising (me talking again)

1. Washington. I don't know, they want to get rid of Mcgee and Blatche already, Those guys aren't very smart. Young, why everyone is so high on him? He can't play defense, he's just terrible defender, terrible. He is not so young, it's just his name I would take Demar and even Linas before Young.
2. Sacramento. There is rumor Casspi is available, Cousins' character is shitty, Evans is alittle overrated. Smth. is missing there.
3. New Jersey. I do believe NJ will be good, but not because of young talent. I think Russian dude planning something, something big.

OKC needs to try to move Green for a Marc Gasol type center.

OKC is by far the closest of any of these teams, but they're still a physical low-post presence away from being true contenders. The next step for them will be to package Jeff Green with Harden or Sefolosha to get a nice return. Bosh would have been an incredible fit on that team, I actually would have been able to cheer for wolfy boy had he gone there.

I like what the Clippers have. Actually I love what the Clippers have. Once they get rid of Baron Davis and pair another top five pick with Blake Griffin I think that team is a perennial contender. Blake Griffin and Irving PNR/Eric Gordon as a third option/ Aminu locking down the perimeter? That team could be stupid good.

I'm really not sold on any of those other teams. I think Utah has a chance at being good for 4-5 years with the core there, and the usual suspects will be there for another two or three years at the top of the conference. Sacramento was looking good with Cousins and Evans until it came out that it was all a clusterfuck. Memphis is locked into a max deal with a B-level talent, and I think that team's future is stuck hoping Gasol resigns and that the Spurs, LAL, and the Mavs age sooner rather than later. The OJ Mayo era looks like it's done too.

funny you don't mention Toronto in your list.
but i find your list very realistic with toronto stuck between promising and unpromising.

OKC is gold, but still needs to work on defense and get someone in the low post.

Deandre Jordan from the Clippers is also turning out to be a great player. He had 7 blocks the other day, and 6 blocks, 12 rebounds against ATL yesterday. All his blocks were clean, and he didn't let the ball go out of bounds. They are going to be a beast of a team in a couple of years. Basically all they need is a SF right now, Baron Davis is playing well right now.

TO is the dumbest team. They need to tank. No decent player is going to come here in FA, and a top 10 pick is going to do nothing for us, we need a top 5 pick. We need to lose, in order to win in this case. I wish we had better management, they have had so many chances to make TO a great team, but all they care about is profit, and it'll stay that way for years to come .

Obviously OKC. Portland would have given them a run for their money if Oden was not made out of glass and Roy's recent problems. Too bad for them, I swear that Organization is cursed.

Other than that, Minny has to be up there. Beasley, Flynn, Love, Johnson, Ellington and possibly Rubio if he ever does start to play in the NBA, IMO Minny would be an ideal place for him with all of the young talent there. Beasley's beasting, and as mentioned above, Love is putting up God numbers. The last player I knew that put up 15 boards a game was Ben Wallace earlier on in the decade.

If Minnesota had taken Curry instead of Flynn and traded their # 5 pick for a bonified player they'd be scary right now.

True. I also think they could have gotten more for Al Jefferson too. I was going to say a David Lee trade, but if anything David Lee is a poor man's Kevin Love at this point who is putting up 21 and 15 a game.

I definately think if they packaged Al Jefferson, the #5 Pick and some Cash Considerations they could have made a play for Carmelo Anthony, but that would probably lead to Beasley and Kevin Love playing out of position (Love to Center and Beasley to Power Foward, believe me Beasley is much better at SF than PF).

Too bad David Kahn is so clueless.
