Default Belinelli Nixes Trip To D-League

Speaking of egoes .... I guess Belinelli doesn't like the advice that Don Nelson is giving him about going down to D-League for a bit to play and would rather sit and rot on the bench.

But even though Warriors coach Don Nelson said that "it wouldn't hurt (Belinelli) to go down and play a bunch of games" with the Bakersfield Jam, Golden State's affiliate in the NBA Development League, the 21-year-old is firmly against that plan.

"I don't want to go, because I think that I am an NBA player," Belinelli said. "I think that I can play at this level, and I want to be here, to work with my teammates. We have a beautiful group and I'm part of it."

I had been wondering where he was for a while. Wasnt him one of the best rookie players in the training camp?

Would he not continue to be paid by the warriors ? I think the contract is guaranteed so what the hell, he should go and get some playing time, work on his game get better then come back.

The problem is that he doesn't do anythig special that sets him apart from the rest of the guys on the team. He should just go get the PT instead of rotting away on the bench.

I just love that their D-League team is called the Bakersfield Jam. Hilarious.
