Heat coach Erik Spoelstra said the move was strictly precautionary and should not affect Beasley’s availability for Miami’s five-games-in-five-days run through the Orlando summer league, which opens Monday.

“He took a shot to the chest,” Spoelstra said. “He probably could have finished if it was the regular season or something like that, but we just wanted to be safe.”

Yeah that would suck.

I mean, an elbow to the chest may hurt and all, but to have doctor observations for it? W-U-S-S-Y

Alrite maybe i'm being a little harsh here....

You never know, really. I know of cases where people developed ventricular fibrillation following a blow to their chest ... undiagnosed heart conditions and all.

I'd guess he didn't have much of a choice in what happened. The team likely made the call to have him taken to the hospital for observation. Still - suck it up buttercup!
