Default Barrett Named D-League Player Of Week

Man-o-man, BC just sign Andre for the remainder of the season already. I think he would be a sufficient back-up for Jose and he'd come cheap too. Anything's better than Darrick right now.

Quote:
Andre Barrett of the Bakersfield Jam today was named D-League.com Performer of the Week for games played during the week of Jan. 7. In two games, Barrett averaged 29.0 points and 11.0 assists, while shooting 22-of-34 (.647) from the field.

The 5-10, 173-pound guard posted 31 points and 14 assists in a 115-125 loss to the Tulsa 66ers on Jan. 9. Barrett finished the week with a 27-point, eight-assist performance against the Sioux Falls Skyforce on Jan 11. He is averaging 18.9 points and 9.2 assists on the season.

Not gonna help much with D, but it looks like his offensive game has progressed in the D-League. As you said, Doc, anything is better than Darrick.

Seriously, Martin should have been gone long time ago and Barrett brought in. He's undersized and can't play D that well, but he can pass and can knock down a shot or two and is much quicker than chipmunk.

my grandpa is better than Martin....
so anyone would be an upgrade... and i know its the D league, but those numbers are most impressive. why dont we give him a shot?
10 day contract at least... why not?

How about the defense? There's your answer. We need someone that at least understands defense so you can hide them in a zone or help situation if they aren't quick enough for man-to-man which Martin can do. Martin is done at the end of this year but anyone we bring in as a backup will have to play defense.
