"I had a great experience with the Knicks, I liked the city, the team and had a good relationship with Derek Fisher," Bargnani told La Gazzetta DelloSport in an interview obtained by the New York Post's Marc Berman.

"I wouldn't mind signing with the Knicks if the opportunity comes. I will let my agent do his job starting July 1. I am now a veteran in the NBA, and, you know, I would like to sign with a team that can give me the opportunity to win a ring."

No one is blaming the 29-year-old for implying that the New York franchise is not exactly synonymous with league champions. The Knicks finished the season with the NBA's second-worst record at 17-65.

"We certainly didn't live up to expectations," said Bargnani. "The beginning of the season we all thought we'd get to the playoffs, then things went differently and, injuries aside, I cannot give a real explanation. For me it was very frustrating not being able to lend a hand to my teammates in the first half of the season. When I came back, I think I did well, so I'm pretty satisfied. In the end of the season, we also found a little confidence with the triangle."

Kevin Love underwent surgery on his left shoulder on Wednesday and will miss four to six months.

The surgery was performed by Dr. David W. Altchek. Continuing treatment and rehabilitation at Cleveland Clinic Courts and Cleveland Clinic Sports Health will be conducted by the Cavaliers’ medical staff and Head Team Physician Dr. Richard D. Parker.

http://ftw.usatoday.com/2015/05/repo...-to-leave-espn

Quote:
Bill Simmons, the popular, but provocative, columnist and television personality who turned himself into one of the biggest stars in sports media will be leaving ESPN at the end of his contract in September.

“We weren’t going to get to the terms,” ESPN president John Skipper told Richard Sandomir*of*The New York Times.

Simmons joined ESPN.com in 2001 and helped build readership on the website with his every-fan sports columns, most of which fixated on his love of the NFL, NBA, Celtics, Patriots and other Boston sports. He also hosted a popular podcast (The B.S. Report), served as a studio host for the network’s NBA programming and helped spearhead the ultra-successful 30 for 30 documentary series, which has won the network numerous awards. But he’s often been a powder keg, getting twice suspended*from Twitter for criticizing other ESPN employees and earning a full three-week suspension during the NFL season for calling Roger Goodell a liar and then daring his bosses to sanction him for it.
Quote:
He complained in 2008 when he wasn’t allowed to put Barack Obama on his show, but took time off in 2010 to write his bestselling*Book of Basketball,*then was given*ree rein over his own breakaway site — Grantland — in 2011. Part prestige-project, part pop-culture guide, Grantland often featured tremendous writing but couldn’t find its footing in its four years of existence. It was also embroiled in a*major controversy after a story about a charlatan selling “magical” putters unjustly revealed that the character*at the heart of the story was a*transgender woman who killed herself before publication.

Still, despite his occasional rabble-rousing, Simmons was the most important personality at ESPN.com and perhaps in the whole network, which makes this breakdown in talks, four months before the contract ends, a fascinating story. Simmons’ next move will be closely watched. He could join another legacy media company (but will he ever have it better than he had it at ESPN?) or make a solo foray into the world of the broadcast media, a la Glenn Beck.

Skipper released a statement on the parting of ways:

“I decided today that we are not going to renew Bill Simmons’ contract. We have been in negotiations and it was clear it was time to move on. ESPN’s relationship with Bill has been mutually beneficial – he has produced great content for us for many years and ESPN has provided him many new opportunities to spread his wings. We wish Bill continued success as he plans his next chapter. ESPN remains committed to Grantland and we have a strong team in place.”

Article - Matt Barnes Fined $50,000 For Comments To Harden's Mom

Guess the league frowned upon Barnes telling Harden's mother to "suck my d*ick b*tch".

Old school NBA folks still talk longingly talk about Vancouver for, um, many reasons. Easily a Top 5 city if it still had a team.

How the fuck does Avery Bradley not make either the 1st or 2nd NBA All-Defensive Team?

For those who wish to watch the Allen Iverson documentary that just came out:

Watch Iverson mp4

It's very entertaining. I had no idea that he got pardoned as a teenager.

I think it's about time to make 2015 RF draft thread. Or maybe two, one just regular mock draft and the other one where we make trades, since not everybody like that one ( I love it!)

The trade one should be called anything but a mock draft thread, but I'm all in for the mock draft thread. Its more like a keeper fantasy league. Maybe you can pick up from where you all left off last year.
