Not a surprise. just posting. I'm thinking Miami will get him.

Quote:
The former Lakers big man, troubled by knee injuries and possibly a lack of desire to play at the highest level, was suspended indefinitely by the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday for conduct detrimental to the team. Reports have the Cavs eager to deal Andrew Bynum. The Clippers, in need of frontline support behind center DeAndre Jordan and power forward Blake Griffin, could be one team interested in trying to make it work with the troubled 7-footer who had not long ago put himself in the discussion alongside Dwight Howard as the league’s top center. Broderick Turner of the Los Angeles Times breaks it down:

The Clippers would have interest in Bynum if he was released by the Cavaliers, according to several NBA executives who were not authorized to speak publicly on the matter.

But according to one Eastern Conference executive, the Clippers would have competition for Bynum because the Miami Heat also would have interest in the seven-footer.

The Clippers have the NBA-maximum 15-player roster and would have to waive a player if they were to sign Bynum, who is still only 26.

The Cavaliers signed Bynum to a two-year, $24-million deal over the summer. But only $6 million of Bynum’s $12.2-million contract for this season is guaranteed if he is waived before Jan. 7.

The Eastern Conference executive said it’s possible Bynum will be released by the Cavaliers in early January if they can’t trade him so the team is not on the hook for the last $6 million Bynum would be owed.

Bynum has averaged 8.4 points and 5.3 rebounds in 20.0 minutes in the 24 games he has played with the Cavaliers. He had 18 points and six rebounds in 24 minutes when he started for the Cavaliers against the Clippers on Dec. 7

CB called for it in the timeout. :Sam Cassell dance:

Heat at Trail Blazers - December 28, 2013 - Game Preview, Play by Play, Scores and Recap on NBA.com
Quote:
QUOTABLE: "Chris was feeling it. He wanted it. As soon as he said it, I said, 'Yeah, that makes sense.' It was much better than what I had planned."
-- Heat coach Erik Spoelstra on Bosh's game-winner

GOOD MOVE: Spoelstra originally called for a 2-point attempt by Wade or Bosh to tie the game on Miami's final possession. Bosh objected, saying he wanted to try a 3-pointer for the win.

QUOTABLE III: "He overruled it, and it became a profit."
-- Eric Spoelstra on Bosh's plea to go for the game-winning 3

Miami better not get Bynum, that'd be lights out for the rest of the league. Hopefully Riley hates his attitude and doesn't even come close to trying to sign him, because if he worked out there, they'd essentially have no compettition, being able to play any lineup matching up with any team(especially Indy who would have their big advantage in the middle negated).

On to another subject, how good has Blake Griffin been lately? He's turned into what everyone thought his ceiling would be as of late, as hes finally using his insane quickness and power off the dribble in completing quick moves to the rim, and he's looked absolutely unstoppable doing it. Plus he's shooting 80% from the line in the past hand full of games, and 75%+ in the last month. If he and Paul keep playing like this, with Deandres improvement on D, they really are 1 big man off the bench(and a SF upgrade) from winning a title this year.

I can see Bynum going there, Wade and LBJ's personalities are so strong and dominate I can see it akin to Rodman going to the Bulls and being kept in check by Jordan and Pippen. Also, the added bonus for Bynum is he wouldn't have to play as much thus saving his knees for when it counts. Bynum in Miami - I honestly can not see a team in the league that will have a chance imo.

You know, I like Griffin but I have been hard on him prior; but damn he made me eat those words this year. Really didn't think he had enough BB IQ to make that step and I don't think he could have taken that step without Doc's coaching. Vinny couldn't have done it.

I traded him in one of my fantasy leagues and regret it daily. Fuk. Never thought he'd shoot FTs so well. He's a better face up game and a consistent jumper away from being the next Mailman.

As for Bynum... something makes me wonder if wouldn't be a decent fit in BOS when Rondo is back. Rondo is also a very smart, cerebral player and it seems like Coach Stevens is too. It wouldn't surprise me if they could get through to him. You're right though... LAC and MIA would be FAR easier for him.

If I had to make a list of cerebral players, Rondo would not make my list. His game is personified by his heart and emotion.

I wish NBA.com's Hang Time Blogs webpage worked better. There's some really good stuff on there, but unfortunately it takes a day and a half to load the pages.

No doubt he has loads of that too... but by all accounts he's incredibly intelligent when it comes to the game. You can see it in the way he runs the team too.

Westbrook... Wall... those are guys who are more the "heart/emotion" types to me.

Pau Gasol has nasty cold, will miss tonight's big showdown against the 76ers.
