I'm still not a huge fan of Westbrook's game as a PG but I have to admit that he makes OKC a much more dangerous team. They looked completely different last night with him in the lineup.

Maybe HE needs to be "Batman" and KD should be "Robin"?

Seriously? People still think this? KD is one of the best scorers of all time and he should be a robin to Westbrooks much more inefficient batman? Really?

On another note, how awesome are the Warriors right now? With Barnes back, they look indestructable. Their team has everything but a backup PG, but Iggy showed he could easily hold down that title if need be in the 2nd half yesterday when Curry went out.

The Clips need a secondary ball handler. I've always said that when Chauncey went down that first year as a Clipper it was big - he was the perfect guard to play alongside Paul because he was somebody that Paul would defer to on the court. The third quarter was ugly for the Clips tonight once the Heat started blitzing Paul on the p&r.

I just wish the Warriors were in this timezone. Iggy, Curry, Barnes and Jackson as a coach all feel like they should have landed here somehow. Cruel fate.

and on cue the lakers go 'hack a howard' at the end of the game... D12 goes 5-15 or something ridiculous like that and Lakers pull out a game winning 3 with 1 second to go.
ouch.

Can you do that? Foul a guy without the ball and he shoots freethrows?

Hit your free-throws at a decent clip and all of sudden there goes that strategy. If it works, it works.

On a side note, has Blake Griffin plateaued a bit? I watch him now and I feel like he's just coasting out there. Yeah he's an athletic freak, but if I'm in an intense playoff series I don't know if I want him on my team. It's just something I've been noticing the past say year.

Regarding the free throws;

D12 hit 4/6 at the start of the hack-a-dwight. Then he decided to runaway and he was laughing when he got fouled like it was a big joke. Missed both. Then he started compaining to the officials that Steve Blake should have been hit with a technical for fouling him out of bounds. Then it was all downhill. It's just interesting with bad free throw shooters how mentally fragile they can be. One moment of self-doubt and it's a lost cause.

Regarding Blake;

I think the addition of Chris Paul actually hurt his development. Paul is so good at being in command, that some of his teammates use him as a crutch, passing up shots or not making a decision opting to get the ball back in Paul's hands. BG's early career arc looked like he was going to be a superstar, but with the addition of a superstar in Paul, it really changed the dynamic of the team and what they needed out of Griffin.

That being said, I think he's a bit underrated...last night he still scored the basketball, he played solid defense on Lebron, and he always seems to be able to grab a key offensive rebound when his team needs it. I think he's a smarter player than people give him credit for.

I agree in regards to Paul. It's when I noticed a shift.

Where I stand on Blake is that he hasn't taken that next step. He's at his fiercest when he's running his lane but in the half court he seems to over think a bit. He should watch some LeBron tapes and mimic his post-up game. He'd create even more space for his shooters. That said, I don't think it was fair how much he was being ripped by Reggie Miller and Greg Anthony last night. Plus, I know i'm nitpicking here. It's just something I noticed and I'd love to see him on that previous trajectory.

I do like Reddick there though. Hopefully he can usurp some minutes from Crawford. He's one of the more unwatchable players for me.

Agree on that last point that Crawford is terrible to watch. Redick is a beauty to watch at times. I loved that trade for the Clippers the day it happened.

Blake needs to hire Karl Malone the way that people hire Hakeem. I think it would help his game immensely to learn from a guy who had similar body type and game coming into the league. If he could master Karl's face up game and fadeaway jumper he'd probably be the best PF in the game.
