He's been working on it all summer. I told people on here that the guy can still ball. He's in crazy good shape too.

So amped to finally see Dwight on the court!

Thankfully he's okay.

On another note, Lakers' bench still sucks.

Not too worried. I don't think the Lakers will have 5 bench players on the floor at the same time very often, unless its a blowout. The second unit will usually have 2 or 3 starters. They look lost out there but that'll get better as the season goes on.

Phoenix's players the last few years weren't miles ahead of the Lakers' bench right now so just aslong as Nash is on the court sometimes while they are on they should be fine lol

I love it when a super-team loses.

Too bad James Johnson had 0 pts and 0 rebounds this game. You probably ought to be a bit worried for your team when JJ leads your team in assists with 3.

I love DeMarcus Cousins - Incredible player.

Just calmly taking apart Pau Gasol down the stretch.

DeMarcus Cousins needs to stop facing up at the foul line vs good teams if hes going to continue to turn the ball over and not recognize where the help is coming from. Its way too easy to swarm him on the 1st or 2nd dribble when hes either trying to get an angle to the rim or trying to spin, not seeing the help. Hes either got to post up a la Dirk so he can see the help better, or make a quicker move in to a pass or hook shot. He plays a lot better getting it on the mid post on the wings so I dont know why they keep going going to him in the middle of the floor. Hes still a beast though.

Ron Artest needs to stop dribbling on the perimeter. He should never be dribbling behind the 3 point line unless he has a serious angle on his man to the rim. Hes got 4 Hall of Famers around him and hes trying to go ISO. Uch.

Nash needs the ball more than he had today to be truly effective. They need to run a lot more action through him to truly get the most out of the offence.

Howard looked really good today as expected. He fumbled a lot of passes but thats probably just the rust. He needs to be ready for all of the Nash passes, he was shocked by a few and that shouldnt happen given you know hes going to find you if you're open.

Kobe looked really good tonight as well. He looks like hes going to be a lot more effecient if he continues to take the quality of shots he took today.

Tyreke Evans' game has fallen off a cliff. He looks exactly like the Reke of last year. Theyre probably better off starting Thornton for scoring, and Johnson for defence, and having Evans come off the bench.

Thomas Robinson looks good out there. Just shows you cant really trust summer league play, where he looked horrible.

Jamison has surprisingly played really good help defence in the pre season on his rotations. His 1 on 1 defence is still abysmal though. The Lakers should do whatever they can to avoid him matching up with a good offensive big at any time. Its hard to tell if hies starting to lose his legs and hes a shell of his former self on offence, or its just a product of him not playing enough with the starters because his moves off the dribble have looked horrible and his shooting has been horrible as well. Hes not mixing it up inside with the flip shots anymore which is not a good thing. I wouldnt be surprised if Hill stole most of his minutes as the season wears on, as he may be a better player and fit at this point.

Maybe I'm guilty of only watching the most important minutes of the game, but Cousins was absolutely killing the Lakers facing up. He has a great face-up game.

Nash is going to have to step it up in the swagger/ego department. He's not in a happy-friendly high-5 your makes and acknowledge good misses type of environment any more.

Now if he misses a shot down the stretch Kobe is going to be biting his shirt to keep himself from saying Nashty things. Everytime D12 doesn't receive a pass that he thinks he should have received he's going to look at Nash all pissy-like.

He needs to step up and be the leader - not just another Steve Blake if the Lakers are going to win. He can start with cutting his ridiculous hair.

MWP has shed a lot of weight. Looks like he was putting in some serious work this offseason.

Yeah he had some nice moves down the stretch, but that was on the right or left wings. He was facing up from the high post at the free throw line the first few quarters and the Lakers guards swarmed him once he put it on the floor and it caused a lot of turnovers or bad shots.

It's going to be interesting to see. I pointed out before that he played with some real team-first guys like Grant Hill recently, and before that he could make sure everyone got some shots off just through the tempo. Now he's got slower guys, and guys that are going to make it a little harder for him to find his own shots.
