This Mayo hot shooting stretch is getting near Flip Murray/Mike James levels of legendary. His shot selection is actually exactly the same as the rest of his career via hoopdata, the only difference with his season so far is WTF 3pt shooting numbers (though he did well from midrange tonight) which is obviously not going to keep up as an undersized SG who's never been close to that good at shooting. Mayo and Bargs is actually probably a pretty decent comparison. I bet OJ Godyo goes the way of 13 Gs Bargnani by next season

Mayo shot amazing for a couple stretches during his rookie season. He was hiting shots from everywhere and most talking heads had him as a lock to be ROY, until Rose elevated his game late in the season. I remember him challenging a couple of Jordan's rookie scoring records; I think one of them was most consecutive 20+ point games? .

He was a 38+% shooter from three during his first two seasons. That's solid over a high volume. He's better than Bargnani, in my opinion. Although I can see a slight comparison if you're talking about needing high volume shots to be most effective.

When Mayo got moved to the bench, I think it killed his game because he was not getting guaranteed touches when he was hot. In Dallas, he has permission to go lights out when his shot is falling. He can jack 20+ shots those games. Once he was moved to the bench in Memphis, he could never do that. It was not necessary because they had good balance amongst the other players.

As a second scoring option (or 1b), I'd take Mayo over Bargnani right now.

Just my two cents.

People (myself included) have been pretty critical about David West's game in the past but I have to admit.... he's actually much better than I thought.

Dude has been flat out BALLIN' this season for the Pacers.

It's a shame that he didn't go to BOS. He's exactly what they need.

+1

a Raptors loss is a bit more bearable when the lakers lose, especially because i have a cousin who lives in southern cali who's a huge lakers fan and always rips on the raptors.
