No, their coach>>>>our team. Their continuity on offence and defence is amazing. Theyre so in sync no matter who plays.

I was just thinking this same thing....

The team that SA is running out there right now are WORSE than our Raps starters (IMO)... yet they just play smart ball, don't blow assignments every time down floor, hit the glass, and take good shots.

I'm all but convinced now that if WE would've drafted a guy like Kawhi Leonard he probably would've looked like a scrub.... but the guy starts for the Spurs because they know how to develop talent.

It's about a sense of team that is not strayed from for a second without consequences.

Here there is too much of a need for self-preservation and/or self-promotion, as I just said in another thread. Team doesn't really come first. Even with Jose, the guy willing to come off the bench as long as he gets close to starter's minutes.

I can't wait to watch the 4th q tomorrow morning. Stern already looks bad, and the Spurs can only make him look really bad by pulling out a W.

How does the league designate who plays and who doesn't. It's bullshit.

I completely agree, at the same time sitting out three stars just looks bad imo. Whatever!

I agree.

I'll be very curious to see how this affects the Celtics later on in the season as well.

You gotta see it from the business side as well. If I'm paying 100 dollars for a ticket to see a 2 elite teams play and then this happens, then its bad fo business and bad for the leagues customer relations. I know I'd be super pissed if I went to see LAC later in the year and they sat out CP3 and Griffin and I paid a premium game price for it.

Instead of penalizing the Spurs, whch he shouldnt be able to do now because theres no rule against what theyre doing, he should make a rule against doing this. How hes going to word it so it makes sense I have no clue, but I do see it from Sterns side

Yeah, but I see Pop's point too. If the sched makers are going to make teams play 4 games in 5 nights you have to have that option as a coach (to rest your stars). Esp. if your stars are older.

I think that this could set a nasty example if Stern comes down hard on the Spurs.

From a kid's perspective, it doesn't matter imo. Atleast as a kid, I would be disappointed not seeing Tim Duncan, but I would quickly become a huge Patty Mills fan and completely forget my disappointment. As long as the game is entertaining it doesn't matter who plays.

Doesn't this happen all the time in soccer? This is the way the league should be. It's a product of a long season.

LX has it right, Pop for commish. Fans would adapt. The prices should be lower anyways.

Jeez.... this is why Lebron's the best player in the league.

Took over the damn game and MIA's going to win a game they had no business winning.

Sorry, but if I'm buying premium game tickets and the other teams star players are being rested I'd be super pissed. You can say prices should be lower and everything, but theres no chance of that happening, so you got to look at the situation how it is. Again, I dont know how Stern is going to sanction them since theres no rule, and if hes creating a rule, how hes going to enforce it because its a big grey area that doesnt really have a good solution for both sides.

But if youre going to choose a side, you got to go on eir on the side of the fans, because they pay the bills. Make the players play, but just play them less. And again, I have no idea how you enforce that. Luckily this situation only pops up a few times a year so its not a huge issue.
