Mo Williams may be back in action this Wed.... might be bad news for the Lakers' playoff chances.

The Lakers are going to catch somebody.

But does it matter - can anybody beat Miami? Three of the top 15 players in the NBA and a supporting cast that all know how to defend and shoot the rock. No holes.

I dunno... HOU is still looking good and they're remaining sched. is weak. They might catch Utah with Jefferson and Millsap ailing. Depends on how much Mo can boost them.

IND and SAS would be my 2 picks to have a chance at beating MIA. They have the size, the defense, the offense and the solid team play to do it. I agree with you though... MIA is the favourite.

I wouldn't be surprised if LAL caught all three for the 6th spot.

I feel the same way. Indy will probably go at least 5 games with Miami at minimum. If SA and MIA meet in the finals I could see it going to game 7. I am sold that OKC or the Clipps can't beat Miami in a series.

Whichever team comes out of the west into the finals is going to be worn down. It's going to be a flat out war in the 2nd round and the West finals.

Lakers cheat. If that's what it takes to get the 8th spot, so be it. Almost feel bad for Laker fans.

I think we've all seen some horrible bogus flagrant foul calls, but that has to take the cake. Allen outweighs Barea by what, 30-40 pounds? Barea chestbumped hm and Allen went flying. It was such an obvious flop.

And yet, the refs actually review the play, and decide its ejection worthy. All 3 refs should be fired immediately. That wasnt even close to being a flagrant one. The foul had no malicious intent, he stuck his chest out, that's it.

The NBA protects its refs way too much. They should be held accountable for this type of bullshit.

At first I couldn't believe the call. It did look like just body contact. But looking closely you can see a push. I still hate the flagrant 2 call, especially since Ray had just pushed off on Barea. I have to think it gets downgraded.

Don't make such a stupid bonehead play to go at a guy like that if you don't want to get in trouble for it. Nuff said. Keep a cool head, or get off the court.

Btw I'm not trying to debate whether Allen flopped or not. You're playing the heat, they'll get the calls.

I'm more arguing the 'how the hell can they agree to call that a flagrant 2 foul after looking at the replay' angle. I mean, Serge Ibaka punches Blake Griffin in the nuts, and Jarrett Jack punches Stiemsma in the stomach, and they get flagrant 1 fouls, and yet this gets a flagrant 2? By definition:
Quote:
A flagrant 1 is unnecessary contact. This is usually when a defensive player swings and makes hard contact with the offensive player or makes hard contact and then follows through. A flagrant foul 2 is unnecessary and excessive contact. This usually has a swinging motion, hard contact, and a follow through.
I just dont see that here, even flagrant 1. Its just an awful call, and again, if the refs can review that and determine that to be a flagrant 2, they should be fired because they have no idea what the hell they're doing out there.

If you read Barea's lips at the end of that clip, it seems that he agrees with you.

The JJ Barea foul was a dangerous play. But I think the refs should've let tempers cool and let those men play NBA basketball. I did not think a flagrant 2 was warranted. This is not middle school, this is the NBA. They are proffesionals. The refs clearly felt a retaliation might be on the way, and settled it by kicking out Barea. But cheap shots are better dealt with by in your face basketball, not trying to hurt the other guys. It's part of the game. Ron Artest has to knock somebody out cold to get tossed. I'm sure prestige and favortism had a little something to do with that call. Oh, he bumped Ray Allen, he's old, we need to protect him.

Paul Pierce 1-5 early, only 2 points. Sixers will win if he can't can it.
