Possibly Kobe's best game this season.

Rubio looking like himself again.

Stats for Feb: 13/4/9 + 2.5 stls.

Gonna be fun to see what he can do with a full season next year.

Who watched last few Lakers games? Doesn't it look like refs (NBA) are trying to put them into Playoffs?

It will be more entertaining than watching the Jazz lose 4 straight.

they are, there's no doubt about it. The refs called Laker games straight up for most this season, but refs are ALL IN trying to help out L.A. now.

From a reddit post:

Quote:
So many on the internets were upset about the perceived officiating bias during Portland's loss to Los Angeles last night.

A guy by the handle of "RealReelTruth" hit up NBA pundit Larry Coon (@larrycoon) about it, here's a transcript of their exchange (edited for readability):

RRT: NBA corrupt! Laker victories via refs for more TV playoff ad money? C Blazers tape!! C other NBA home game refs!

LC: Don't confuse "consistent with" with "evidence of." Reality is consistent with any number of conspiracy theories.

RRT: No confusion on this end, Mr. Coon. ... Is there [collusion] on your end? It's part of your job to WATCH the evidence first.

LC: Unstated major premise: that if I had watched the evidence first, I would have [come] to the same conclusion as you, therefore I must either not have watched the evidence, or I must be in collusion. Logical fallacy: false dichotomy.

RRT: I have a lil hunch; U think Shaq & now Kobe didn't have 'ref free card' for offensive fouls?

LC: Ever talk to an NBA ref about the difficulty of reffing someone like Shaq or Kobe? I have. Ever set up a study to weed out true causal effects from perception? I have ... Ever looked at detailed analysis of stretches of NBA games that break down ALL calls or missed calls to look for statistically significant anomalous behavior? I have. If you want to convince me your conspiracy theory is correct you'll have to do a much better job than what you're doing. As it is, your thinking is classic conspiracy theorist -- all anecdotal with zero rigor, and sweeping any disconfirming information under the rug (e.g., your suggestion that I must be in collusion with the league). It's a self-insulating thought process -- anyone who disagrees simply becomes part of the conspiracy, therefore there is NO information that could falsify your belief.

TL;DR Don't cry conspiracy unless you have some rigorous research and work to back it up

Howard wasn't trying to block him in mid air though.

He's a god amongst hardcore fans.

Larry Coon is the only reason why any of us know what's going on with CBA issues, because there doesn't appear to be an original copy of it anywhere online. But Coon has broken it down in a "frequently asked questions" format in a document online. It's like the bible for CBA related questions.

Larry Coon is a computer scientist by both education and trade. He works as an IT Director at University of California, Irvine, and has also taught university Computer Science courses, specializing in database theory. A lifelong NBA fan, he assimilated a working knowledge of the league's salary cap and trade rules, eventually organizing this knowledge into the Salary Cap FAQ to provide "the kind of reference I was looking for when I was trying to figure it all out."

Larry has been featured in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times and Sports Illustrated. He makes regular media appearances including television (such as ESPN's "Outside the Lines") radio and podcasts. He is a regular contributor to ESPN.com, the New York Times Off the Dribble blog, and to Hoopsworld.com. He is often quoted and cited, both online and in print, by local and national media venues. His work also appears on RealGM.com.

Larry lives in Orange County, California with his wife and 14 year old daughter, about whom he brags at every possible opportunity.
that's a smart guy right there

he sounds edumacated.

We owe Mr. Coon a debt of gratitutde for his efforts in making the CBA accesible to fans.

LOL. You can tell he's an inquisitive guy when his CBA FAQ has over 120 questions that he has probably asked himself.

It's not a conspiracy to see refs helping the Lakers win. It happens every year. Sometimes more often then not. Conspiracy is a term used quite often now. It's like if I don't believe Obama is the greatest President America has ever had, then I'm automatically tossed into the conspiracy bin, just because I don't believe in what the majority of America feels. Now, does that majority of America read the news? No, no, they don't. They keep their eyes and ears shut, and point fingers at non-believers and call us conspiracy nuts. Or worse... Republicans.

you go over the cap by chunks of millions, then the NBA will give you a bonus. It's that simple.

Larry Coon is all that is right with the universe. It was over 500 years ago that Johannes Gutenberg invented the printing press, inciting the dissemination of immortal literary works the world over. Today, Larry Coon is doing him one better.

I guess the refs never got that memo when Zeke was running the Knicks.
