Atlanta looking to trade Marvin Williams/Acie Law?

- According to Boston Globe:

"There have been rumours of Williams being dangled in a sign and trade for cash. Don't be surprised if talented yet unused guard Acie Law, the 11th overall pick from 2007 draft is moved too"

Cash? CASH? We have cash.

Man thatd be an amazing deal. Getting a 22 yr old forward whos avging 14 points on a loaded starting lineup for nothing and a potential decent pg who hasnt really had a chance yet.

That deal has "Raptors" painted all over it. And if we could get a big man and a two-guard for Marion? Sheeiitt.

Yeah, let's get Johnson.

He really stepped up in the playoffs...oh, wait.

Only teams that could pull this off are the ones with cap space, so not us ( assuming it's a straight up players for cash sign and trade).

We're one of 3-4 teams with some cap space this summer. Not alot, but we have some room.

True, if the Raptors renounce every free agent we've got. Should be around 8-9 mil i think. Thinking about it, that's probably more than enough for williams.

But then you'd have to hope that the mle can cover whoever you want back from the parker, delfino, graham, rasho group, and marion would probably leave for nothing.

this is an absolute golden trade scenerio for the raps.
not only do we get a versatile SF in Williams - who i think would be a HUGE piece for us, and IMO is one of the best suited SF's to play on our squad - but we'd also get a backup PG that we sorely need in Law.

Williams is young and extremely talented. on a stacked Atlanta squad, he isnt even their 3rd option... they dont run playss for him, yet he still puts up 15 ppg and a handful of rebs and dimes.
put him on a raps uni and i guarantee he puts up 18/8/3 without breaking a sweat.

BC better be on the phones!

I would entertain the idea of seeing how much Bibby wants and if he'd be willing to come off the bench. Like Jose, he's not much of a defender, but he'd provide some stability at the point guard position off of the bench.
