Artest/K.Thomas to Lakers for Odom??

Apparently Kobe likes the idea of playing with Artest and the Lakers have already considered taking a run at him but they would probably need to take on Kenny Tomas' rather large contract with the deal!

Thats interesting. Thomas is owed over $16M in total for the next couple season. No doubt that isn't cheap but Artest could put them over the top.

thats a pretty good trade. Artest wouldnt have let Pierce do what he did in the finals thats for sure. He would be the new Rodman with hso crazy attitude. And Thomas would be a great back up for Bynum.
but I love Odom, too bad he couldnt play well when it counted.

Make It Happen Kupchak!!!!

Although Kenny Thomas was bad this year (1.4 ppg/2.7 rebs) in only about 20 games. I'd rather go for a guy like Mikki Moore. He had better numbers (8.5 ppg/6 rebs) and he's about $2mil cheaper than Thomas.

If I was the Kings I'd be looking to get more young building blocks/draft picks for Artest, but whatev

I'd be a wonderful deal for the Lakers.

Fisher
Kobe
Artest
Gasol
Bynum

I don't wanna fuck with that team

They could probably go for 70 wins with that team.

And then lose in the NBA finals to the Celtics.

Celtics are screwed with half of their bench leaving. 32M over salary cap is fucked..Free agents leaving. No dice.

While Artest is a good idea, I still don't see why the Kings want him

What if the Lakers gave them Bynum for Artest, Udrih, and their 1st next year?

Fisher/Udrih
Kobe
Artest
Odom
Gasol

That's pretty good. Still a little soft inside but it was almost good enough this year, and I don't think Gasol's defence was the reason they lost this series.

I know it sounds dumb to trade Bynum but the guy still isn't a sure thing to be a star, his knee could have issues and I do think his offense this year was overrated, half his points were off Kobe double teams. They might feel his value is at a peak right now and if he pulls a Bargnani next year, they certainly won't get a package like that for him.

Kings do this just for Bynum's potential. With LA, it's riskier to bank your hopes on a non-sure thing, because they want to win right now. With Sacramento, as long as you have Kevin Martin you're in for a long history of mediocrity without any real franchise player. You'll never be bad enough to get a superstar and you'll never be good enough to actually make noise. If Bynum panned out though, that's an awesome pair.

I like that but I really think Bynums gonna become a franchise player for the Lakers, and really, he's only had 1 season with them before the injury. I say give him some time, he's still young, and he's going to be pretty good for the years to come.

Udrih is a free agent so it would have to be a sign and trade but at the end of the day you don't trade a 7'0" beast who averaged 13 and 10 at age 20.
