Wizards Arenas blames Wizards for letting him play hurt

Whaa....? He's starting to remind me a little of marbury...

Agent Zero Blames Wizards For Letting Him Dictate To Them - NBA - Yahoo! Sports

Quote:
Gilbert Arenas(notes) says the Washington Wizards shouldn't have listened to him last season when he insisted on playing even though he wasn't fully recovered from multiple knee surgeries.

"If you have a kid that loves basketball, that eats, sleeps, drinks and thinks basketball and all he knows is basketball and he gets hurt and he's your franchise player, you need to hold him back from himself," the star guard tells The Washington Times. "If I'm saying I feel good and you know it's supposed to take six months, instead of letting me at four months run … they should have held me back.

"Rather than saying, 'Let's let this guy do what he wants and use him to sell tickets'—sometimes you have to protect players from themselves. I don't feel like I got that type of protection. But, I don't judge them for that. Some things just happen. I told them I felt OK because I wanted to play, and they did what they did."

Arenas returned to the court March 28 but played in just two games for the Wizards, averaging 13.0 points. He shut it down in early April, then worked with famed personal trainer Tim Grover in Chicago this summer. Grover tells the Times that Arenas worked several hours each day to regain the his explosiveness in his legs.

"If I hadn't come up here, I'd be starting off the season with a 95 percent chance that I'd be sitting out more games," Arenas tells the Times. "(Grover) saved my career."

And, in typical Agent Zero fashion, Arenas says he's once again unstoppable.

"Nobody could guard me before, and can't nobody guard me now," Arenas told the newspaper.

what a douche bag and does he want the organization to come and wipe his ass for him too?....hes a grown fucking man.....if he cant make such a simple decision as not to play when hes hurt......then he shouldn't have sighed that fat ass contract, which will haunt the wizards for years to come....

And it starts...

I know a lot of you think Washington will go far, but for me it depends on whether Arenas is back to his former playing self pre-injury and if his head is on straight. Blaming his organization for perceived wrongdoings isn't a great way to start this season.

I hate Gilbert Arenas more then i hate KG. And that's saying alot. He's a douchebag, that needs to shut the fuck up and see if he can play a full season.

Arenas is supposed to be a grown ass man, I mean the guy is comparing himself to a child! How is he not able to make a grown decision to not play when he's hurt? And to blame it on management, come on!

I will say this though, if Arenas and the rest of the Wiz manage to stay healthy they WILL be a threat. >>>>5th possibly even 4th in the East

A healthy Arenas=Top 5 PG in the East easy

I think he makes a good point, and I'm glad he said it because WAY more often than you think pro athletes look back is retrospect and wish that thier management or thier Med staff would have taken a harder line with them when they were hurt.

It's fucking hilarious as Raps fans that you guys don't see the parallel with Jose.

Wonders never cease.

There not even close to being parallel situations.
