Anthony Davis disappointed to be going to the Hornets

:cookie:

Good start with the fanbase...

Quote:

Anthony Davis’ family wanted him to land with Michael Jordan's Bobcats.

"A lot of disappointment inside my family," said Anthony. "My mom wanted me to go to to Charlotte. I have a lot of good friends in Charlotte. At the same time, it wasn't my call. A lot of guys are disappointed but they have to move on and make the best out of New Orleans."

Davis, who was raised in Chicago, grew up rooting for Jordan and the Bulls.

I missed the part where he was disappointed. Only the people around him...

MISLEADING TITLE! :police:

Yeah, I read that this morning. It made me think about that Hornets hat he was wearing in the photo. It was probably a CHARLOTTE Hornets hat, not a NOH hat. Those throwback Charlotte hats and jerseys are some of the top sellers amongst old school merchandise. Suck on that conspiracy theorists. :reporter:

Edit - if you follow the link at RealGM to the original news from the Chicago new outlet, he is asked about the hat. He says it's a Charlotte hat.

Thank goodness we didn't win the lottery and get stuck with this public relations nightmare!

Well played.

If you go to the orinal web page for the story (CSN Chicago) and watch the interview, some of his answers are interesting. Apparently nobody from New Orleans had even contacted as of the interview. What? Nobody calls you after they draft you. Seems weird.

They haven't drafted him yet..:police:

Ya man, thats whats funny, they might not draft him...maybe I will help him and his family out on Draft night, who's the Charlotte GM?

carp 06-01-2012 05:51 PM

If I was NOH, I'd offer him to Jordan for their pick, Kemba, Byombo and 2 future firsts.... no way Jordan is smart enough to turn that down.

It looks like these comments...will raise a few eyebrows.

They might not keep him, but he as close as you get to a consensus, without being in the James, Howard, and Griffin category of consensus. And some might argue he is in that category.

I know, know, you don't play by those rules, so in the RF mock draft we ca all expect Davis to drop to Charlotte. :reporter:

pretty much, I think we might get 0 right again lol

Bankiz 06-01-2012 06:49 PM

charlotte get the 1# + J Jack
NOH get the 2# + 1st portland 2013 + walker + Biyombo.

then chalotte amnesty thomas, and go hard after kaman.

JJ- henderson - Magette - Davis - Kaman
Not a dream team, but they could work some magic if they get a solid coach.

that's a horrible trade for charlotte. they're better off going after robinson or kidd-gilchrist. they'd be a better team with an extremely bright future. bismack is gonna be a defensive anchor in a couple of seasons. you just don't give away talent like that, especially with the second overall pick.

Howard was not the consensus that year. In fact, there was a huge debate on whether to take Howard or Okafor. Obviously, in hindsight we know they selected the better player.

Since when is playing for the Bobcats something to hope for? Lol
