You know, the more I think about it, I think you're right. After the NCCA tournament that year, there were a number of people talking about Okafor having an "Olajuwon like" impact on the defensive end. Sure looks silly now. And, back then, Howard's frame was nothing like it is now. There were probably more than a few critics of that pick.

Yup. I remember because it was the only year I really followed March Madness closely (I should always follow, but I just never do lol). UConn had Gordon, Josh Boone, Charlie V, and Okafor. I think they ended up winning that year, iirc. I think Okafor averaged close to 5 bpg that season.
