well to be fair, the kings have been absolute ass when it comes to their organization in the past. a 24 hr convenience store was run better but now the future is looking bright.

but the situation i was picturing was this: suppose you were in the draft, needed a big man and davis and cousins were the two options you had. who would you take?

Blazers have taken 2 bad beatings in a row,
So I voted for Jose Calderon.

You can only blame so much on the organisation of a franchise. Great star players and rolemodels can be found on bad to mediocre teams as well. Davis is one of those players. Cousins is not. Davis is helping his team win. Cousins.... meh....

But then again my resentment towards Cousins is legendary...

Davis no question.

If it's a draft and a long term decision, then Davis seems an easy choice. He's much younger, no character issues. 5 years from now we'll be discussing who's the best player in the league, Davis or Durant.

If it's just this year, then it's close. I'll take Cousins if I want someone to run an offense around. Milwaukee Bucks? Chicago? Give me Cousins.
I'll take Anthony Davis for lets say the Spurs or Dallas, a team that already has an offense that works. He would make every aspect of that team much better. Both offense and defense, half court and full court. Hustle, screens, rebounds, rim protection, cuts, athletic plays, pick and roll/pop, transition offense and defense.

Is that how you judge every player comparison? If so, your method isn't a good one.

Davis wins this comparison currently. They're completely different players obviously, but Davis' defence is elite and is what sets him apart from most players really.

Demarcus has been a dominant offensive player and rebounder this season, but his defence is still below average.

Davis is putting up those numbers at 20 years old, and despite having a very good faceup game and midrange J, he really has no real go to moves outside of using his quickness, which shows how smart of a player he is already, being able to get to spots and make the easy plays on offence leading to 20 points nightly. Once he works out a few go to moves, the league will be his.

Davis no question. It's hard to find bigs who are elite on both ends of the court these days.

Fröz-d 01-30-2014 02:53 AM

Davis by a zillion :mattyd:

Not every comparison of course. But here, were the stats are quite similar, you go with the best record imho.

Your logic is severely flawed. Injuries and team chemistry have been huge factors in both teams underwhelming records, so I cant really see how you can make a judgement on who's better just based on record.

You need to look at both players overall games, and then compare them based on who has the biggest impact on winning while on the court, which doesn't necessarily result in wins because of injuries, chemistry, and because they play in the West.

Anthony Davis has more of an impact on winning because he's a defensive star, not because of team record. Offensively I think Demarcus has the edge, but defensively it's not close.
