They will soon have every player approaching 40 with creaky body parts. I suspect a bionic super team. Buss saw wonder woman cheering for the Heat and said "get me Lindsay Wagner - and tell her to be prepared to reveal all she knows!"

I would have loved to see Mayo with the Lakers but Jamison still makes their team better.

Also,it opens up the possibility of packaging World Peace with Bynum in a blockbuster deal for Dwight Howard and others, now that they have Jamison who could start at the 3 and provide more offense than Metta

Jamison cant play the 3. This isn't 2000, and even then he could barely play the position.

He doesn't need to be LBJ, all he has to do is shot the 3 and open the lanes for Kobe and Nash and pull the doubles off of D12/Gasol.

Besides, that is a potential line-up. I can see Jamison being the 6th man off the bench and be a real anchor behind Gasol. If the Lakers need him to be a stretch 4 then you play him with Nash/Kobe/MWP/AJ/D12 and have the 3/5 cover is defensive lapses.

There are so many possible line-ups that I think people are just pointing out a number of different scenarios depending on match-ups.

Again, he cant play the 3. You can make up all the potential lineups you want, but he will be one of the worst players in the NBA when playing the 3 if the Lakers choose to put him there, which they won't.

I think they're going to play him in a similar fashion to what they did with Odom in terms of his position. When Bynum gets his first breather late in the 1st qtr, Jamison will come in at the 4 and Gasol will switch to the 5, and then Bynum will replace Gasol early in the 2nd qtr, and Jamison will play approximately 24-26 mpg as the primary(only) big off the bench.

Honestly if I was LA I would have re-signed Hill instead. He's not only a better fit, but likely more valuable and better production wise in the same role.

Jamison can stretch the floor for them which Hill couldn't.... I think it's a great add. Especially if they land dwight.... so he'd be in a role similar to Ryan Anderson and Rashard Lewis before him.

Oh thriller.... with Howard, gasol and kobe and nash, I could play the 3 there, give your head a shake dude, stop getting caught up in posiotions or numbers.

Nash
Kobe
Jamison
Gasol
Howard

Yea it wouldn't really matter if Jamison played 3 with that lineup. Him coming off the bench would be sick though, Artest would bring some grit to the starting 5.

I think Thriller is likely pointing out the fact that Jamison couldn't guard his shadow last year even playing the 4. They'd need to cherry pick match-ups to have him out there at the 3.

Oh no worries Grizz, we know what Thriller is saying. All I was saying that with D12 and Gasol behind him and Kobe in front it wouldn't surprise me to see Jamison used at the 3 like a stretch 4. All Jamison really has to do is steer his man into one of those three. No biggie. I'm sure we'll see this and a plethora of other combinations.

He hasn't been all that glorious offensively either. His best days are behind him. And the Lakers didn't have a great defense without him, I don't know if they really want to sacrifice defense for the sake of questionable returns offensively.

Really? I dunno. His % did dip to 40% but he did still score 17.2 ppg this past year on a fairly shitty team - after Irving went down. For a condensed season he still averged 6.3 rpg.

I would like to see what his averages are on a very good team and not the focus for other teams defensive schemes. I'll wager his % goes back up to his career average of 45% though his rpg may dip if he plays with D12, if not I can see 7+ rpg. That's pretty good for a 36 year old and he certainly won't have to work so hard to score on the Lakers.
