Nuggets Andre Miller on the outs in DEN

Quote:
LOS ANGELES — Andre Miller, who was excused from all team activities for four days, won't be part of the Nuggets for long after he returns.

The Nuggets are actively trying to trade Miller, according to a league source. If accomplished, it would be the second time Denver traded him. He was traded in 2006 in a package that brought Allen Iverson to the Nuggets.

It has been a dicey few days for Miller, who had harsh words for Nuggets coach Brian Shaw during Wednesday's game against Philadelphia. Miller was initially suspended, but then the suspension was rescinded, in part so Miller would be able to continue getting paid during his time off.

Miller has spent all or parts of seven seasons in Denver, in two stints, this latest one starting in 2011, when Portland traded him back to the Nuggets.

He has averaged 12.0 points and 6.7 assists in his career with the Nuggets.

His salary is currently $5M and he's on the books for another seasons after this one... I wonder if Masai's talking to his old buddies about a possible PG swap (if he doesn't want to risk Kyle walking)?

Smart, veteran PG who knows how to run a team and isn't a liability on D. Isn't half the shooter than Kyle is though... still... I've always been a fan of his.

miller would be a good backup pg. I can't see masai downgrading the team just because lowry might not resign. he wants to maximize his assets, and given this team's form, probably strengthen to make it more likely we get to the second round. Unless there's more assets involved i.e young players, or good vets+pick, can't see a lowry miller trade.

I do however see us targeting him with other assets. vasquez has been a let down, and you can't have someone like him leading your second unit in the playoffs

Hmmm.... didn't think about that. I like that idea a lot more. Lowry + Dre would be damn good and if Kyle decides to leave we'd still have a capable, experienced PG to run the show.

Get Masai on the phone and make it so!

Vasquez is expiring as well, so a 1 for 1 deal would make sense. Denver gets back a young PG for a player who they no longer need, and they can let him go without consequence this off season. We get a big upgrade, and another expiring deal for the 2015 off season.

It would be a treat to watch the best lob thrower in the NBA play with Val and Amir.

Please make this trade MU and get Miller here for GV. Since GV has some upside with age, a small contract etc maybe we can ad a Novak or Hayes into it.

As soon as I saw the title of this thread I also thought of GV for Miller. Denver saves some $, Raps improve at backup PG. I don't think MU would ever do Lowry for Miller straight up.

I tried to do GV for Miller straight up but too much salary was headed the raps' way unfortunately. GV can't be dealt with another player for another month and a bit or so.

Dude has an authority complex. He's also in denial that he's getting old and he sucks.

He would be a good backup for Thomas

they could make separate trades, something like Hayes for Miller and Vasquez for Arthur.

I would love this trade, Miller would be much better fit than Vasquez

I haven't lost faith in Greivis yet, he would be a better fit long term. But if the guy is playing like shit and at same time wants to be a starter, deal his ass.
Miller would be awesome off the bench.

Can we not use a trade exemption?

The TPE is lower than Miller's salary. And it can't be combined with a player.
