Cavs Anderson Varejao opts for Free Agency

Quote:
Anderson Varejao has elected not to exercise his player option with the Cleveland Cavaliers, as expected.

"Anderson Varejao has officially informed the Cavs that he will be a free agent at midnight," writes Brian Windhorst of the Plain Dealer.
Quelle Surprise.

uh B-Rad, if thats the first time your hearing that nickname, i'm guessing you dont really watch basketball or frequent many forums eh buddy.
that nickname is like 5 years old...

in any case, he wore out his welcome in cleveland anyway and they are probably glad he's not returning. he's more of a headcase to that franchise anyway with his contract problems and failed negotiations... this leaves the door open and frees a spot for CV. now that they have shaq, they need PF capable of dropping open jumpers, playing the pick and pop, and posting up. CV is looking like the odds on favorite.

Finally free. Bet he's not back next season. I would not be surprised of the Rockets took a run at him.

Yeah, an aging bloated big man, an underachieving forward and a superstar that will leave if things don't work out.

I think bringing in Shaq will be a disaster.

Naw I don't think so,
Phoenix was a disaster for Shaq, they tried to run with him.
It obviously didn't work.

In Cleveland Shaq isn't expected to be the Monster Laker he was.
Just someone to help Bron Bron.
And same with C.V.

I mean any front is nice when LBJ is on it.

Shaq is going to clog the lane and make it harder for Lebron to get into the paint and do his thing. Big Z is the perfect centre for Lebron because Z's natural inclination is to position himself outside the paint which draws the opposing centre away from the basket. This made it easier for Lebron to penetrate and either make an inhuman move at the basket or hit a shooter with a pass. It's too bad Z can't defend his own position.

Shaq ain't lining up anywhere but under the basket.
