Amare apparently wants 20Mil per, doesn't want to go to Cleveland

Quote:
According to a source, Amar'e Stoudemire has let it be known that he does not want to play in Cleveland.

The news was passed along to the Cavs who are now going in another direction. Over the weekend, the Cavs and Suns appeared close to a trade that would send Stoudemire to Cleveland.

But the deal might not be completely dead yet. One key factor that could change Stoudemire's mind is if the Cavs make Stoudemire an offer to extend his contract. He is believed to be seeking $60 million over three years.

Note: Brian Windhorst of the Cleveland Plain Dealer refutes the report and says that Stoudemire has made no such statement.

If this is true, who'd pay a guy that seems more interested in money than winning?

I dont think there is any team in the league willing to offer him 20 million. 16 is even a stretch for this guy.

I'm not even sure Lebron, Wade or anyone would even want to play with this guy.

Nothing but problems...

Amare is a good player and is worth more than 14M likely 3 years @ 16M.
Most of what you read is pure BS
I think he would go in a flash if traded and sign an extension.
He and Shaq didn't mesh in Phoenix so that could be a potential problem.
If he goes I feel sorry for Nash ...... he gave everthing to get the Suns where they are to see it flushed. Without Amare they will fall out of playoffs.

Damn. I was hoping he would end up in Cleavland and totally screw up their chemistry.

Poor Nash... I still dont get why he signed a extension in PHX anyway... They are rebuilding basically trying to get under the cap with there cheapass owner.

How long before he demands a trade out of there to a contender?

Amare's agent may have fired the 20 mil per out there hoping that the Cavs figure his inflated salary is worth it if it ends up being the addition that gets Lebron to re-sign.

Nothing wrong being fiscally resposible but to gut a team like the Suns when they have overachieved is stupid. The Suns really get virtually nothing out of the deal. Who would sign with them?

In the off season there are only a few top rated free most of whom will not move. What are teams like Miami, New York, Washington, Houston, Chicago going to get. Turk may look like steal after this off-season.

Phoenix has never really had any problems attracting FAs. It's on par with Miami. When they had cap space a years ago coming off a horrendous season, they were able to snag Steve Nash.
