Allen and Rondo have a strained relationship

Quote:

Ray Allen struggled to get along with Rajon Rondo this season, according to Sports Illustrated's Chris Mannix.

Allen will be a free agent and is expected to be pursued by the Knicks, Heat and Bulls amongst others.

"I think there's no question that the relationship was strained over this year," Mannix said. "How strained is the key, and it's still a little bit unclear. There was some friction between those two. I think that could play a role in Ray's decision not to come back. Now, I agree, I think that Boston probably wasn't going to bring him back anyway, you're right, it's Avery Bradley's job and Ray isn't coming back to the Celtics to be a bench player, especially when he can be a bench player on a team that might be more likely to win a championship. But I think the relationship over the last year between Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo soured. Now, I'm not entirely clear as to how bad it got. But certainly I know that there was some legitimate, palpable friction between those two players and I think that will ultimately affect his decision in free agency."

How can anyone not get along with Ray Ray? :cookie:

10gizzle 06-11-2012 01:05 PM

I really hope Dallas makes a play for Ray Ray.

Would fit perfectly.

Stonezz 06-11-2012 01:08 PM

Ray Ray to the Bulls, I think that would be ideal.

Superjudge 06-11-2012 01:23 PM

He's better than Derozan. ;)

carp 06-11-2012 01:23 PM

Ray Ray to the operating table.... that guy needs fixed. Was brutal watching him in the playoffs, such a letdown after all he's been. I pray for thee, Jesus, get well and rise again!

DocHoliday99 06-11-2012 02:17 PM

Ray Ray to the Heat...open 3 after open 3...that would just be purely stat padding :) Hell throw in KG too since he's done so well at C

Since the Heat don't use a pg when it counts have Ray/Wade/LBJ/Bosh/KG

How can New York or Miami afford Ray Allen?

Come on now

Vet's minimum. Allen has certainly earned a lot of money (what 175mil?) not counting endorsements so it wouldn't be about that. If Allen wants rings I'd go to Miami too - sure shit wouldn't go to NY.

Dark Knight 06-11-2012 05:22 PM

Anybody but Miami. It would taint Ray's already stellar career.

According to multiple league sources, there is mutual interest between the Heat and Ray Allen.

Miami can offer a contract starting at $3 million per year to Allen, the taxpayer's midlevel.

called that one....maybe :cookie:
Allen would have a field day as a 3pt specialist with all those ridiculously open looks...

I wish Ray would go to the bulls, he's one of my favourite players would hate to see him go to Miami.

When some old former Sonic gets paid more then you, and puts up not even half the numbers you do because he's old, I can see where that would be frustrating.

if Allen goes to miami i'll make a strong consideration to pick him up next year for fantasy.

Great point - I usually pick him up but for sure I will now if he signs there. He will be a nightmare

Brian Windhorst explains that there is mutual interest between the Heat and Ray Allen, but money will be an issue: “According to multiple league sources, there is mutual interest between Allen and the Heat. The most the Heat can offer is a contract starting at $3 million per year, which is known as the taxpayer’s midlevel. Allen could get more money elsewhere, but the Heat offer an attractive portfolio that goes deeper than cash. But before you consider how Allen might look in a Heat uniform, take a moment to get a more well-rounded view of the situation. A big issue is just how much money is the team is willing to send to its competitors in luxury-tax payouts to add Allen or any other free agent. It is a championship team as is, and its payroll is ballooning even without adding players.”
