Allen Iverson?

Should teams that desperately need some pg depth take a chance on the once dominate A.I? why or why not? discuss.....

Bargn88 01-23-2012 05:02 PM

Because he's terrible

Alex 01-23-2012 05:37 PM

Because he won't come off the bench he's got a massive ego.

DonMughal 01-23-2012 10:56 PM

I'm dying to see him come back though. I still think he has a lot in the tank. Damn his damn brain.

carp 01-23-2012 11:08 PM

We should take him cause we need a starting shooting guard!

Nites 01-24-2012 12:37 AM

He's too old now. Just retire if I were him.

No he doesn't. Yeah he's made some dumb basketball decisions, but I tried to show in a thread over the summer how A.I. is a very misunderstood player, here:

Allen could help any team in any reasonable role given to him, starting or coming off the bench. He even said as much in an interview (his notable quote of "Give me a role") done in recent years.

His gig in Memphis was just a bad situation from all angles, a move that should've never happend for both parties. Ditto his last time in Philly.

I think he's actually a more well rounded player than ever before, after spending time learning w/Beskitas in Turkey.

If he could start here as a SG I'd do it. DeRozan could learn a lot from A.I.... plus if we lose a lot who gives a fuck, we're going for a #1 pick anyways.

It's one thing for an organization to show desparation, but once you are willing to invite dysfunction....You'd be putting yourself in NY Knicks - Isiah Thomas territory.

+1 atleast we'd have some novelty to fill some seats. Also I'm sick of Demar auto starting. Does anyone really think this organization is taken seriously around the league anyway?

He has a hissy-fit, plays 3 games then hurts his back, then has another hissy-fit and quits the team. You guys might be losing games, but you're not quitting them.

I'd love to see AI in TO, I can't see him coming here though

box92 01-24-2012 05:31 PM

get him here

jermyzy 01-24-2012 05:38 PM

I've seen a few media reports of him having some financial problems? If so, I wouldn't be surprised to see him try to make a comeback a la Antoine Walker
